WNAP320 Disconnects clients frequently

I have a 5 WNAP320's in a few buildings.
They disconnect clients throughout the day a few times. This happens at any time and doesn't matter if the user is in the middle of an email, on the web, or if the device is not in active use. To resolve this users either:
a. reboot computer
b. reboot A.P.
c. turn wireless reception off and on (on computer)

I can see the "full bars" when I am disconnected. When I connect to the log this is what I see (below). My device is e4:ce:8f:78:25:5e. For example, I experienced the symptoms above at 10:19am

Thanks for your help in diagnosing and hopefully resolving this.

Here is the log for a few hours:

Re: WNAP320 Disconnects clients frequently

I've got similar problems with my WNDAP360 APs. We bought 16 of them but half the time the clients cannot connect more than a handful of devices despite the "max user" level of 64. Even if I only have 1 client associated, they will suffer disconnections throughout the day. I had to set up an old Linksys unit for that single client and, surprise, they don't get any more disconnects. I've also been "working" with Netgear technicians for a couple weeks, but so far we haven't been able to solve the problem because they keep telling me it works on their end. That doesn't help me. I've been trying to make these access points work for 3 months; I even bought the WC7520 controller, but that only made issues WORSE. I'm ready to ditch Netgear altogether.. This is just ridiculous. Upgrading firmware hasn't helped. Downgrading firmware hasn't helped. Changing from a 16 bit subnet to a 24 bit subnet didn't help. WEP doesn't work at all. The radio on/off scheduler doesn't work unless you keep the Netgear NTP as default. So many issues and no solutions.

Re: WNAP320 Disconnects clients frequently

Thanks for posting! What are your client types? (pc, mac, iphone, etc. ?) The trouble has been blamed (by those not working on the issue) on the network cards in work issued laptops. Since the laptops showed up on the scene at the same time as the A.P.'s did. I disagree. Do your logs look similar with repetitive "associated" "disassociated" etc? Thanks!

Re: WNAP320 Disconnects clients frequently

I'm taking my focus away from the APs and starting back at the source: We're going to try an install of a NETGEAR FVS318 ProSafe VPN Firewall Switch between our ISP's router and our network. Currently, we have the ISP's router running directly into our switches and we've been thinking that possibly this is too much to demand of the router. I'm hoping with some more sophisticated software the WNAP320s will stabilize and maintain connections. In the meantime I've told users they can get used to practicing patience and feeling frustrated. I'll keep you posted.

Re: WNAP320 Disconnects clients frequently

Having the exact same issue with managed WNAP210 with firmware 2.0.27 and the wms5316 with firmware 2.1.2.

Any Netgear guys who can solve this problems?

I have the same problems, there is a ready solution? Very disappointed in Netgear products.
My workstation configuration Linux Mint 13 with ASUS PCI-N10 (ralink RT3060F). Net autentification WPA2-PSK.

Re: WNAP320 Disconnects clients frequently

I am experiencing the same issue here,

I contacted Netgear and received a replacement under warranty. (Impression was it was a hardware issue) The tech I was in contact with was as helpful as can be via email. Tried their suggestions, but continued to drop.

In monitoring since replacing the new item I am still experiencing the same issue this morning. Frustrating for users here (I don't use wireless in our office but others do)

I can't identify whats causing the De Auth here as its sporadic.
Back to the drawing board 😞

Re: WNAP320 Disconnects clients frequently

Update on our issue.

Turned out we had a DNS routing issue for our AP.
One of the guys here worked it out yesterday, where we kept losing internet connectivity.

We placed the Primary DNS of our external rather than having our router pass this info and stability has improved.
