extending one band or other

just a quick question. When setting this up can you extend both bands of your router simultaneously (2.4 and 5) or do you pick one band to extend and then the extender makes its own 2.4 and 5Ghz networks to connect to? I am more or less just trying to verify if I set it up correctly because I did it once and the 2.4 lit up and then did it again (thinking I was just setting up the other band) and now only the 5ghz light is lit.

Re: extending one band or other

don't know if this makes a difference or not, but my 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz bands on the main router have different SSIDs

Re: extending one band or other

During the setup you have to choose both signals to extend. Both signals are extended simultaneously. And then you can chose the one your device is capable to deal with.
For example My iphone 4s can deal only with 2.4 GHz. Where my wife Galaxy Note can deal with both so I choosed the 5 GHz for it.
