Thank you. I believe I have accidentally fixed the issue. I said to Forget the Network on my iPhone, and then reconnected, and all seems to be well. For the time being anyway!

It may have been "accidental" but it is actually one of those quick and simple tricks that should be at the top of any list of things to do when you have wifi connection problems. (The wifi equivalent of the "on/off" reboot.)
Pity we didn't suggest it sooner.
