Missing links?
I gather that the old "R6000 Series AC WiFi Routers" and "Wireless N
Routers" forums have been subsumed into this (renamed) "General WiFi
Routers (Non-Nighthawk)" forum, as those older forums are now empty ("No
posts to display").
https://community.netgear.com/t5/x/bd-p/home-wifi-routers-r6000-series
https://community.netgear.com/t5/x/bd-p/home-wifi-routers-wireless-n
Did anyone in charge consider the possibility of leaving a posting in
each of those now-defunct forums with a link to their replacement? (Or
some other kind of redirection?) In the real world, some users might
have a bookmark or two which are now about as helpful as one of those
"You are not connected to your Router's WiFi network" error pages.
A separate forum for complaints about the forums still seems like a
good idea to me.

Re: Missing links?
Over the past week, multiple requests ("Report Inappropriate
Content") to get that scam-link posting ("Message 2 of 2") removed have
been ineffective.
Now, "No posts to display" on the "R6000 Series AC WiFi Routers"
forum has been replaced by a (locked) topic, "R6220 Router". Moved into
a dead forum by some other (typically alert) Moderator? Yow.

Re: Missing links?
In a similar vein, a couple of months ago, I tried to "Report
Inappropriate Content" concerning one of the sticky posts, "General info
and Troubleshooting for Cable Modems":
https://community.netgear.com/t5/x/x/m-p/1530376
Namely:
Compare bullet headings with links: "How Cable Modem FW upgrade?", "How
to debug provisioning/speed issue?"
Again, no action or response.
Note that a native English speaker might have written, "How to update
cable modem firmware"?
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
o How Cable Modem FW upgrade?

Now two (locked) topics.

Thanks for your highly valuable contribution.
To which "It" do you refer? The now-dead forums which continue to
gather (locked) user threads? The scam-link posting? The misleading
and/or hard-to-read documentation?
"doesn't matter" to whom? You? (Who cares?) The users who might
still stumble into a dead forum? The users who might find and follow a
scam link? The users who waste time trying to read bad documentation?
What ever happened to those golden days of:
> Tell you what!
> If you see one of my posts, just ignore it. I will reciprocate. End of
> story!
https://community.netgear.com/t5/x/x/m-p/1642296#M98659
I long for those days. (Shouldn't you be out shopping for another
router or two, instead of wasting your time here?)

Re: Missing links?
And now I've received one of those lame e-mail messages about which,
up to now, I've only read others' complaints:
From: NETGEAR community <community@netgear.com>
Subject: Did you get the answer you needed?
Date: 30 November 2018 at 02:53:50 CST
Hello ${recipient.login}, [I love those personal touches.]
A reply to a topic you are following has been accepted as a solution!
Author: ${thread.topicMessage.author.login}
(${thread.topicMessage.author.ranking.name})
Date: 2018-11-23 12:20 AM
It goes on to quote the posting with the scam link.
In fact, I have not yet gotten the answer I needed, and I see no way
to respond to that question. But thanks for asking. And no, the
referenced posting (with the scam link) has not actually been marked "as
a solution".

Re: Missing links?
At the upper right corner of your screen should be a RED rectangle. Move your pointer over that rectangle and press the left button of your pointing device. Your problems will be solved and now you can pursue a life.

Wrong again. Presumably, you're trying to be funny, not pathetic,
but you're failing.

Not _my_ problem. But thanks for playing.

For a good time, try to follow the link in this posting from an
official "NETGEAR Moderator":

The first one has appeared on the other dead forum:

Perhaps someone should tell the official "NETGEAR Moderator[s]" that
moving a misplaced thread to these dead zones is not a big improvement.

Thanks for your latest typically valuable contribution. Did you
begin life this way, or is it the result of accumulated deterioration?
If you don't care, then why do you seem to care so much? Other

Re: Missing links?
What _is_ the official recommendation for which forum to choose for
models R6xxx, where xxx < 700? This question seems to recur. For
example:
https://community.netgear.com/t5/x/x/m-p/1675565
https://community.netgear.com/t5/x/x/m-p/1674170
https://community.netgear.com/t5/x/x/m-p/1674054
...
The usual "experts" (and/or busybodies) keep redirecting these
unfortunates to some more appropriate forum for their models, but the
only model list where they might appear seems to be the one in the
Generalissimo Francisco Franco forum. (Of course, it's tough to test
that speculation, with the sealed coffin in the way.)

Make that eight. And now another scam link posing has appeared in
this thread. "Report Inappropriate Content" has had as much effect on
the new one ("Message 23 of xx") as it had on the old one ("Message 2 of
xx").

Re: Missing links?
@DexterJB NETGEAR Moderator:
It's nice that you're posting responses in the orphaned/locked topics
in the now-useless "R6000 Series AC WiFi Routers" forum:
https://community.netgear.com/t5/x/bd-p/home-wifi-routers-r6000-series
I'm curious. How, exactly, were you expecting to get answers to your
questions? Perhaps fixing some of the problems cited above would make
responding to your questions easier for the victims.

The count had fallen back to eight, but it's now back up to nine
orphaned/locked topics at:

And now up to three at:

And three scam-link postings in this thread, unaffected by (repeated)
attempts to "Report Inappropriate Content".
