Hello, I have a specific application (Uverse) that requires 5 GHz Wireless-N. It seems that the R6100 does not actually allow Wireless-N on the 5G band. inSSIDer shows AC-only on the 5G band. This is contrary to how the product spec and the Genie web access information are presented, as they both state 5 GHz wireless-N compatibility. But there seems to be no real wireless-N on the 5 GHz band as inSSIDer and my application both confirm. Is this correct that the R6100 does not offer true wireless-N on 5G, only on 2.4G? Thank you.Solved5G on WNR2000v4
I'm guessing that the answer is on the Community somewhere, but my search did not turn it up, so please excuse me if this is a repeat question. I have a NetGear WNR2000v4 router with the latest firmware, and cannot seem to find where to enable the 5G band on it via the NetGear Genie, etc. I just installed a NightHawk range extender, and it's showing that 5G is not enabled on my router. Is my router capable of 5G? If so, please let me know how to enable it. Thanks! JoeFHSolved2.5KViews0likes2CommentsNetgear Nighthawk R7000 - Medion PC - can't see 5G Connection

Hi, I've just installed Orbi RBK50 3 pack on firmware 1.10.1.2 (GREAT wifi pack btw!) I used Netgear Genie app to find the most optimal channels, as you can see from screenshot it recommends channel 56 and others. However, in the settings I only get to choose between 5G channels 36,40,44,48 Should I even be looking to change the 5G channel, or will this somehow interfere with how Orbi works? If the answer to 1 is Yes - how do I access other 5G channels? Thanks!SolvedR7900 5G-2 Band Drops Speed from 200mbps to 2mbps
Hi. Over the past week I've noticed the 5G-2 band on my R7900 will drastically drop speed for no noticeable reason. Last week I change the broadcast channel from 149 to 161, which I thought was the source of the issue. Router did a soft reset after applying new channel setting and speeds went back to normal. Fast forward a week and the same drop in speed happened again. This time I just did a soft reset and left the channel the same. Speed went right back to normal after reset. 2.4G and 5G-1 bands are never impacted when the 5G-2 band is having these issues. I've tested the speeds with multiple devices ~1 foot away from the router. I'm using latest firmware (V1.0.1.4_10.0.12). Any suggestions to fix this issue? Thanks in advance.Solved5.9KViews0likes11CommentsEx3700 - 5 GHz not working
Hi, I am having the same problem as other users with regards to the 5g connection. The extender shows connected to the router but the 5g range is then not broadcasting. Some devices can connect to the 5gExt SSID but then will not have internet access. Others fail to connect completely (time out). I have changed the router channel & run the smart setup several times but it does not make any difference. Firmware is: V1.0.0.58_1.0.38 (Apologies I don't know if that is the latest or not as every time I try to check online for a new version I get the message that I am not connected to the extender network, despite the fact I am connected to the 2.4g at the time.) Any further suggestions would be welcome! Thanks.EX3800 Unable to Connect a Device to 5G
Hardware Version: EX3800 Firmware Version: V1.0.0.58_1.0.38 Went through WPS setup and manual setup. Haven't gone through setup while hardwired. 2.4g works fine. 5g shows connected between Router and EX3800 but I cannot connect a 5g capable device to the EX3800. I have great signal between the router and extender and the extender and the end user devices. Has anybody run into this problem and have a solution?2.3KViews0likes1CommentN300 can't find my 5G network
Hardware Version: WN3000RPv3 Firmware Version: V1.0.2.24 Howdy, My WiFi extender is only seeing 2G networks (including mine) when I go through a fresh setup via http://www.mywifiext.com/. But I'm trying to connect to my 5G network, like I do with several other devices. The setup process doesn't show any 5G networks. My router is broadcasting the 5G network name and has these settings: Mode: 802.11 n/ac Transmit Power: 100% Channel Selection: Automatic Channel: n/a Channel Bandwidth: 20/40/80(auto) Is this extender not 5G compatible? Any suggestions? Thank you in advance!Solved39KViews0likes2Comments
