Although I don't recall any firmware/dll updates, my A6210.EXE App has been recently running at 30-50% of CPU consistently (no breaks less than 20% ever). Was there a recent software release which made this happen? My poor CPU is so busy the fan is always on high, and it's really cramping my gaming.... HELP - is there a solution? Wait for the next release to fix it?Solved7.1KViews0likes1CommentWireless adapter Netgear A6210 ac and 5ghz problems
Hi, been having trouble of late with my A6210 adapter. Even using the latest driver version (1.0.0.36 as of today), both windows and netgear's genie cannot detect the 5ghz network of my router, just the 2.4ghz one. When I uninstall the driver and genie, it connects to 5ghz fine BUT only on 802.11n instead of ac. Any advice? OS is windows 10 64 bit home (supposedly compatible with latest driver) Router is Asus RT-AC1200G+ Router Settings: I have tried playing around with the control channels and channel bandwidth to no effect, also setting wireless mode to n/ac mixed ( there is no option for ac only for this router). No luck. Have also tried changing the network adapter's settings in Windows too (USB speed max 3.0, etc) but I still get this: As you can see I have uninstalled the adapter driver to be able to connect to 5ghz so the device is showing up as "802.11ac Wireless Lan Card". How do I force this adapter to connect with ac only? To confirm it is not a router issue, I plugged in an old adapter I had (some TPlink model) and it connected with ac just fine.4.1KViews0likes3CommentsNETGEAR A6210 WiFi USB3.0 Adapter Connection Speed Still 54Mb/s Argggh!
I have installed software version 1.0.0.36 as recommended on this forum, I have set the USB Speed to 3.0 in the Advanced tab, I have disabled the NetgearUSBSwitch process from Start-up, and probably a few other things too which escape me at this hour, but I still only get a slow 54Mb/s connection speed. After the installation of the software v1.0.0.36 the connection speed did go up to 144Mb/s and all was good, but the next start up of my PC and all back as it was. Any suggestion would be gratefully received as I'm just about to purchase another manufacturers Wi-Fi Adapter. Thanks in advance.Solved11KViews0likes5CommentsFailure to Connect (Windows 10)
So using USB tethering I was able to download and install the driver and the NETGEAR genie program for my computer (no CD drive) and everything seemed to be working perfectly, until I tried to connect to my WiFi network. Whether it was through entering the passcode or using "Push n' Connect," the connection attempt failed.2.9KViews0likes1CommentA6210 Software Version 1.0.0.36 Disconnections
Hi Again So I've updated Windows and decided to try .36 after the disaster that was .35 Good news the driver solved all the issues that I had with .35 Bad news is that I keep having issues with limited connectivity/ disconnections to the internet. - Its not linked to heavy downloads even everday browsing has caused me issues - I updated all my drivers etc and checked again with slimdriver that a member recommended - Still having issues with the connection So I have uninstalled Genie again along with the .36 driver and am using the driver that comes with Win 10. The driver that comes with Windows is not perfect (It struggles to connect on start up) however the connection appears more robust than that of the netgear one. mrsqueezy6.8KViews0likes9CommentsA6210 Poor experience
Hi Everyone, Going to be honest here I am really dissapointed in this product and seems a lot of other people are based on the forums results of the A6210. Firstly on the previous version of the drivers with Windows 10 x64 the drivers would never detect from NetGear and Windows would install its own drivers. No matter how many times I did the reinstall, remove, delete, add. When they were working on the Windows drivers large downloads would fail randomly. Classic example "Origin" game client trying to update coudn't so it was stuck in off line mode. Downloading ISO would "always fail". Then only recently NetGear released a new updated version of their driver that now works with Windows 10. I was excited to give this shot and the drivers work straight away from W10 w/ Build 1703. Sadly the downoads will keep dropping out. I have been trying to download a ISO from Vmware for the last 4 hours and having to keep "re-trying" after every failure. I had to take my PC up stairs and connect the ethernet cable to get this to actually work. I have tried enabling Max USB Speed 3.0 (I have a intel chipest with C220 controller series 8)), PMF is off. The odd thing is the average response time to my router is under 1ms with a max od 3ms and 0% packet loss. The only other thing I can think of trying now is switching to the Mediatek drivers as NetGear are only OEMing their dongles from these guys. Any other tips people have come accross that might work would be appreciated. + Current Driver Version: 5.1.29.0 (15/09/2016) NetGear. + USB Root and USB 3.0 and USB Wireless Adapters all have power management set to disable. + Latest chipset drivers from intel installed Thanks,6.2KViews1like7CommentsA6210 Windows 10 Airplane Mode
Hey, I was using my A6210 with Genie 10.0.0.34 on a Windows 10 PC when the device started disconnecting repeatedly within minutes, then seconds. I uninstalled Genie, got the 10.0.0.35 install, and then found Airplane mode was stuck ON. I went through the solutions on the internet, short of the registry edit procedure. Nothing worked. I deinstalled/reinstalled a few times and now the WiFi is working again, with airplane mode still ON?! However, Genie does not recognize that the A6210 is installed. Device Manager shows "802.11ac Wireless Lan Card" with driver provider Netgear, 4/21/2015, v5.1.22.0. Any clues to getting Genie working? As I said, I have connectivity through this adapter. Thanks!5KViews0likes4CommentsMy A6210 adapter stopped working!
I had this adapter for a few months. It has been running on my windows 10 operated computer all the time. Sometimes I had trouble connecting, but it always turned out great. Then when I turned the computer on, it refused to work. I had been on the computer today, played a few games, spoke with my buddy via skype. Turned the computer off, and went outside for a couple of hours. When I returned, and turned the computer on, it didn't have internet. It refused to connect. I don't know why. I have tried restarting my computer. I tried switching USB ports, trying different cabels, testing my extention cabel, tried the adapter directly into a USB port. Nothing. I tried reinstalling the software, and updating the drivers - nothing. I downloaded the Netgear Genie app too, still nothing. I tried various things, and it doesn't work.Solved24KViews0likes2CommentsA6210 HELP adapter not found
After downloading this driver, the adapter and genie stopped working after downloading new drivers. I don't remember how I got to this point, but my genie was uninstalled hoping if I reinstalled it, everything would be fixed. Not the case, when I tried to reinstall it, it couldn't find my adapter. Therefore, I couldn't get the genie to work or install new drivers on the website. I've searched through forums and videos, tried the device manager thing and still no luck. Any ideas?5.6KViews0likes4CommentsA6210 adapter not connecting on 5G (Windows 7)
I would be very grateful for any help on this problem. I have an I7 computer running on Windows 7 with a Netgear A6210 wi-fi adapter and a Netgear D7000 modem router. The router is new and seems to be working fine on various household devices on both 2.4 & 5 Gb. The adapter is older and works brilliantly on 2.4, but has all sorts of problems on 5Gb. It also had problems on 5 Gb on a previous Netgear modem. Most of the time it appears to connect at a good speed (867 Mb) but usually fails to get an internet connection. In practice I am not sure it actually does connect since I have difficulty accessing the router or my NAS wired to the router. I believe there are occasions when I have received the internet on 5Gb, but I have been playing with this so long I am no longer sure. I have installed the latest windows driver for the adapter ( vsn 5.1.22.0) and it has made no difference. When I use the windows diagnostics it generally finds that it needs to reset the adapter - but even after having done so it still does not connect to the internet. Changing to 2.4 Gb it connects quickly and works every time. Netgear genie tells me that it works on channels 9 & 13 at 3 bar strength and about 300 Mb/s on 2.4 Gb and channels 36-48 on 5Gb with 4 bar strength and 867 Mb/s. I would be very grateful for any suggestions to find a way forward. I have no hair left to pull and am getting close to consigning all netgear products to the bin!Solved5.3KViews0likes2Comments
