I've installed A6210 using the standalone Windows 7 driver, and on every boot I receive the W7 message informing me that the device will perform faster when using a SuperSpeed (USB 3.0) port. It is attached to a USB 3.0 port, but on running USBTreeView, I found it to be registered under one of the EHCI hubs and running at USB 2.0 speed. I have two other USB 3.0 capable devices, a flash drive and a drive dock, both of which, when attached, are registered to the USB 3.0 hub and run at SuperSpeed (&, naturally, no W7 message telling me they can perform better etc.) I've tried all three devices in all USB 3.0 ports, both front panel and rear m/b ports, and the A6210 is the only device not running at SuperSpeed. o/s: Windows 7 Pro SP1 x64 auto-updated m/b: GA-Z87-HD3 (Gigabyte) bios: AMI F6 (last to address USB issues) usb: Intel XHCI & Root Hub On another PC, with an Asus board & NEC/Renesas drivers, the A6210 runs @ SuperSpeed. Any ideas would be appreciated.Solved68KViews0likes42CommentsNetgear A6210 internet drops
So, I just got the Netgear A6210 network adapter for Christmas because I was having problems with my old one and it works great but the only problem is I'm getting internet drops randomly for like a second or two and then it comes back. It's hardly noticeable when browsing the net, but when it comes to gaming it can be really frustrating. I have already looked up if anyone else has had a problem with this but have seen nothing. I should note the drivers are updated and I am running the adapter on Windows 8.1. I'm not entirely sure if it's my computer or the adapter, I'm just assuming it's the adapter as the last one I had didn't have this issue. If anyone knows anything that could help I could really use it, thanks.55KViews1like45CommentsLooses connection
Hi, I have the EX6200 working in FastLane mode where it connects via 5Ghz to my router (AirPort Extreme last generation) and then using wires I connect some other stuff to it. Well, all this works fine, but then after 2-3 days the extender looses its connection to the router and such those wired devices cannot see anymore my network. I have to switch off and on (using the button on rear side) the extender and then it reconnects fine and all works fine again. That's getting quite annoying. I have another extender from Gateway and that guy is always connected, never lost connection. I did update the firmware to 1.0.0.46 but the problem persists. Any ideas why this might happen? I chose the EX6200 because of the wifi C connectivity, as I need to stream BlueRay rips from my server to a box that plays them on TV, the Gateway extender which is only N could not handle such a rate transfer.46KViews0likes43CommentsEX6200, unlike EX6100, doesn't support LAN uplink!
I've just received delivery of an EX6200, expecting to connect it my existing router via wired Ethernet (LAN) connection i.e. as an access point. Apparently the EX6200 does not support this scenario, whereas the cheaper EX6100 does. I'd appreciate if the EX6200 product development/technical support can assist with the following questions- Q1. Is the EX6200 hardware capable of supporting wired access point (LAN) connection (i.e. back to a router) as per the EX6100? Q2. Are there any plans to add wired (LAN) access point functionality in a firmware upgrade, assuming hardware support is there? FYI: I went for the EX6200 over the cheaper EX6100 due to the better specs (faster, more signal, etc) and expected it to support all the EX6100 features and more….. I've just been on the blower (phone) for an hour to very a helpful Netgear support person. He confirmed the EX6200 does not support wired Ethernet to the router and only WiFi extension is supported. The cheaper/slower EX6100 will do the job I want. Silly me - looking at the forums, I'm not the first customer to have this issue. In any case, I'm very disappointed that the lack of support for wired (LAN) connection to the upstream device does not appear in the EX6200 spec sheets/web page, AFAIK. :( Perhaps the EX6200 should have been called something else… E.g. "EW6200", to differentiate it from the cheaper EX6100, which supports wired upstream connection. I bought the EX6200 (cost $AU115) to replace a Belkin F7D1301 (cost $AU18) especially because the EX6200 supports 802.11AC and 5GHz. Sadly, the EX6200 is now packed back in its box and the F7D1301 is back in service till this issue is resolved. Best Regards, dB Communications Engineer - who is feeling a bit stoopid right now…35KViews0likes16CommentsStuck at 54Mbps
I setup my R6300 a couple months back and have been using it in conjunction with the N900 USB adapter and getting pretty reasonable speeds. I recently got the A6200 adapter and connecting to the same network, I'm limited to connecting at only 54Mbps. If I switch back to the other adapter, the speeds go up. I'm running Windows 8 and using the latest Windows 8 Beta driver. Any insight as to what's going on?31KViews1like13CommentsNetgear A6210 not showing 5ghz band
Good afternoon, I recently purchased a Netgear R7000 Nighthawk to make use of the high speed 5ghz band, only to find out that my usb adapter (A6210) is unable to view it as an available network. I can connect to the 2.4ghz band perfectly fine ( averages about 165mbit/s), but the 5ghz is nowhere to be found. I tried updating the genie software, uninstalling and re-installing the software and the drivers without success. I also contacted live support but was quickly turned down since apparently my 90 day support expired 4 days ago. Has anybody had a similar experience with this adapter? The only reason I purchased the nighthawk was for its raving reviews and coverage, which my a6210 cannot utilize. In comparison, my Macbook air connects from the same exact distance to the router's 5ghz band with a perfect signal. I am using Windows 7 professional, and the distance between usb adapter and router is aprox. 10 feet, with a dry wall in between. When I switch the device's properties in windows control panel from 2.4 and 5ghz bands to only show 5ghz bands, there are no connections available. Is it possible that there is a hardware problem with the 5ghz band? Thank you.31KViews1like3Comments
