I have Comcast Blast internet and was getting a little over 100mbps with the xfinity router but I decided I was tired of renting so I bought a surfboar modem that also got roughly 100mbps. The surfboard had to keep being restarted daily so I took it back and exchanged it for this Nighthawk C7000 which is way more stable and suposed to be faster. The problem is that now when I do speed tests from xfinity speed test or speedtest. net. I am only getting between 25 and 30mbps. Speeds are consistent on phones, wifi computers and wired computers. I was getting 100mbps on all devices just before I switched so I know it's not them. I know the C7000 is plenty capable of 100mbps so I've tried all the channels and changing the mode speeds to each and every setting and nothing gets over 30mbps. Today I just did a factory reset and that also did nothing. Also all 24 downstream Bonded channels are showing locked. Only 3 upstream are showing locked but I'm more concerned with the download speed. Thanks for any help, DexterSolved24KViews0likes4CommentsC7000 - Strange connection issue with mobile phone on WiFi
Network works normally with all connected devices -- except -- Cell phone appears to connect normally to WiFi but will not download or update apps. Just sits there "downloading." However, same phone operates normally at Verizon store connected to THEIR WiFi and, at my business on that WiFi. And if I turn off WiFi on the cell phone and use data all works fine. Problem only appears on home network with this router using WiFi. Yes, all computers on network CAN access and download internet content normally through the WiFi except the cell phones which can display all pages, but not download apps. Things tried so far: Restored phone to factory settings- no help. Restored C7000 modem/router to factory settings -- twice -- no help. Re-registered (with router beboot) C7000 with ISP -- no help. Anyone got any ideas?2.9KViews0likes3CommentsNighthawk AC1900 C7000 random disconnects every day
I recently purchased and installed the Nighthawk AC1900 model C7000 dual Wifi Modem Router. It has been dropping the internet connection every day at the same time. Sometimes twice a day. I never had this problem with my old router and modem. It is not the Wifi that is losing the connection. It is the modem. I have my computer hooked up via ethernet cable. I am very frustrated. I called my internet provider and they told me they show now problems with my connection and no history of lost signal. Is there some setting in the router that can be causing this to happen? Please help!Solved44KViews2likes4CommentsNetgear Nighthwawk AC1900 RC7000 (C7000) LAN Ports stopped working
The wireless works fine. Im at a loss as to what to do to get the ethernet ports to start working again though. When I connect the ethernet cord from my computer to my router all I get is "Unidentified Network." I purchased the router 4 Months ago so I'm outside the free support window.3.4KViews0likes1Commentusing cable modem with router as only a bridged wireless device
I bought this unit less than 40 days ago, and now because my home business is not running well on vonnage, I need to switch to comcast voice which requires a new cable modem with a lesser capable wireless router. The question is can you use the AC1900 as a bridged wireless router?3.4KViews0likes1CommentHow do I disable NETGEAR Genie from starting?
When I first used my cable modem and went to http://192.168.01 I arrived at a bare-bones setup (no web-based Genie). Then I downloaded/installed Genie. After a few days I decided I wanted to return to the original setup. I uninstalled Genie but now I get the web-based Genie. Nothing I do seems to prevent it from starting. I tried re-installing Genie but after the second install Genie crashes immediately, won't start, so I uninstalled it again. I've reset my cable modem to factory settings and the web-based Genie still starts. What do I have to do to return to the out-of-the-box setup? I've searched the Community here for 2 days and I can't find a solution so I apologized if I've started an unnecessary thread. I have the AC1900, C6300BD from my ISP (Cox) and Windows 10.Solved15KViews0likes7Comments
