Not even sure where to post this since my model number is RAX80. Anyway, the QOS sucks, and the DHCP must be screwed on firmware Firmware V1.0.1.56_1.0.23. Or the http interface doesn't update if you hit refresh. Tried to call tech support to tell them problems with the firmware but I get level 1 telling me if I tried resetting the router. 1. If I set QOS to Highest it some how resets for the device and even changes the label i've assigned to it. 2. Problems with my smart devices because the iptables must not update correctly for wired devices. 3. Labels assigned with edit button on administration/attached devices wont save for some reason. Bought this new router cause all the advertising says it can handle more smart devices, seems to crash all the time. I'm ready to to send it back.Nighthawk RAX80 very unstable - losing connections
Hi all, I've bought the RAX80 six weeks ago and it's been very unstable since then: - devices losing wifi connections - devices not seeing the wifi network - RAX80 losing internet connection (orange led) I did resets to factory settings several times (with rebooting modem, RAX80 and all the connected devices). I only use default settings now - with Smart Connect enabled. No extra wifi6 settings like MU-MIMO. But nothing works. After a few days all the problems above come back again. I'm very disappointed in this 300 euro router. In times like this with working at home en schools closed losing wifi and internet connections is very frustrating. Is there something I can do about this problem - except for returning the RAX80? ThanksRAX80 recalls previous settings after factory reset
I have been trying to reconfigure my RAX80 router however each time I make a configuration change that requires a reboot, the router boots back to its previous configuration. I went to the Backup menu and clicked on the Erase button however this does not seem to work either. I then learnt about the 30:30:30 reset rule which I performed and happily it rebooted into a seemingly new instance. However once again as soon as i made a change requiring a reboot, it reverts back to the previous settings. It brings back old passwords, wifi settings the lot. I have been at this for almost 3 days now and at the point of despair. If anyone knows how to get round this that would be superb.RAX70 Smart Home, DoS attacks, WiFi speed issues
I've had a ton of issues with this router which is actually the RAX70 tri-band model. The one they said would resolve early issues with the RAX80. There are constant issues keeping smart home devices connected to the router. These include: LIFX bulbs (both older and newer models), Dyson Fans, Roomba vacuum, Litter Robot, Petkit feeder, Wemo smart plugs, Withings scale, HP Tango printer, etc. The smart home devices show up in the Nighthawk App but show a link rate of N/A. With the recent update to the app, it now shows these devices as offline. I've tried going with factory settings, adjusting recommended settings like OFDMA, 20/40 coexistence, WMM & QOS for airtime fairness, channels 1, 6, & 11 as well as lowering speed from 600mbps on 2.4 network, disabling smart connect. I've tried what seems everything in the book to get this router to work, and nothing works longer than an hour to keep the devices connected. I also experience the DoS Attacks constantly throughout the day. Yes, I know the false flags on port 443 from Amazon, Facebook, Apple, etc. These are present but there are also attacks from unknown locations in Germany, Hanoi, Canada, Netherlands, & more using ports like 59, 80, 179, 1338, 2222, 8000, 10009. My WiFi speeds on WiFi 6 devices like iPhone 12 Pro's download speed will plummet to 12mbps. Pretty bad considering I have gigabit Verizon Fios. And sometimes it will kick our iPads off wifi. Armor has been enabled & disabled with no effect on the issues. Factory Resets work for about 10 minutes. I ensured to not use any channels on the 5ghz bands that conflict with nearby airports. The router is out in the open and can be seen from most of the condo except the bedrooms. I'm seriously at a loss of how to fix the issue. Anyone seen this before or know how to resolve it? It's a bummer to think I might have an almost $300 paperweight bought a couple months ago. This is my first time using netgear and it's not enticing me to want to stay in the future if this is how it is with zero support options past 30 days. Slow speeds across devices, and all the constant DoS attacks below. These are all from the last hour.Nighthawk RAX80 Continually Drops Internet Signal
My Nighthawk WiFi Router continually drops any kind of internet signal (both Ethernet and WiFi) periodically. At least a few times a day. Not sure what the heck is going on. I’ve updated firmware. Factory reset. Turned it on and off again. I’ve just kind of run out of ideas to try to fix this. My cable modem is the Surfboard DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem (Model #SB6190). This is starting to get really frustrating. And my gf made the comment the other day that the internet worked better when we had the modem given to us by Comcast/Xfinity.... talk about a punch to the gut especially after how much I talked this combo up. Anyone have the same issue or know of a fix that I am missing? What is Wi-Fi 6 and How is it Different From Wi-Fi 5?
Wi-Fi 6, or 802.11ax, is the next generation of wireless standard, succeeding 802.11ac (Wi-Fi 5). With the increased number of connected devices entering our homes, Wi-Fi 6 technology addresses your home’s need to keep up with the volume without affecting performance. By providing improved network capacity, your wireless experience will be smoother and more enjoyable with ultra-fast speeds, greater coverage, reliable connections. As NETGEAR entered the Wi-Fi 6 world with the introduction of NETGEAR’s AX Routers, the Nighthawk AX8 and Nighthawk AX12, we look to lead the new era of Wi-Fi. These high-performance routers provide improvements in throughput allowing more data to be transmitted per data packet, multi-device support, and Wi-Fi spectrum efficiency for streaming, gaming, and media sharing. For homes with Gigabit internet, the recently announced Orbi Wi-Fi System with Wi-Fi 6 not only will benefit from the same features, but it will also help provide Gigabit Wi-Fi coverage across every room of your home. Additional features include: Orthogonal Frequency-Division Multiple Access (OFDMA) Multi-User MIMO Data Efficiency with 1024 QAM Target Wake Time Dual-Band Technology Backwards Compatibility with Previous Wi-Fi Standards To learn more about Wi-Fi 6, please visit: https://kb.netgear.com/000059637/How-is-Wi-Fi-6-different-from-Wi-Fi-5 To learn more about NETGEAR Routers with AX Wi-Fi: https://www.netgear.com/landings/ax-wifi/
