25 TopicsNighthawk AC1900 C7000 random disconnects every day
I recently purchased and installed the Nighthawk AC1900 model C7000 dual Wifi Modem Router. It has been dropping the internet connection every day at the same time. Sometimes twice a day. I never had this problem with my old router and modem. It is not the Wifi that is losing the connection. It is the modem. I have my computer hooked up via ethernet cable. I am very frustrated. I called my internet provider and they told me they show now problems with my connection and no history of lost signal. Is there some setting in the router that can be causing this to happen? I have Comcast Blast internet and was getting a little over 100mbps with the xfinity router but I decided I was tired of renting so I bought a surfboar modem that also got roughly 100mbps. The surfboard had to keep being restarted daily so I took it back and exchanged it for this Nighthawk C7000 which is way more stable and suposed to be faster. The problem is that now when I do speed tests from xfinity speed test or speedtest. net. I am only getting between 25 and 30mbps. Speeds are consistent on phones, wifi computers and wired computers. I was getting 100mbps on all devices just before I switched so I know it's not them. I know the C7000 is plenty capable of 100mbps so I've tried all the channels and changing the mode speeds to each and every setting and nothing gets over 30mbps. Today I just did a factory reset and that also did nothing. Also all 24 downstream Bonded channels are showing locked. Only 3 upstream are showing locked but I'm more concerned with the download speed. Thanks for any help, DexterSolved24KViews0likes4CommentsNighthawk C7000 AC1900 Modem/Router Lag Issues
Hi there. I'm having a strange issue that Spectrum Internet will not help me troubleshoot since I am not using their modem. I'm using the C7000 as my main modem and router and experience a high amount of lag for no apparent reason. I have tried both hard-wired and over WiFi and experience this lag. Now, I've ran multiple speed tests through Speedtest.net and get perfect results (~20ms ping, 115 down, 11 up) just about every time. This occurs through a hard-wired PC and through WiFi on my cell phone using the app. The problems occur in games such as Rocket League on Xbox One and World of Warcraft on PC. Here's the tricky part though... it's sort of random. On Rocket League, I connect to one of their servers every match. Some matches, the latency is great (<60ms) and will remain great and consistent for that match. Other matches, I'll connect and have a high latency (~150-300ms, which is constantly fluctuating throughout the 5 minute match). On WoW, I'll have a "Home Latency" in the mid-30s but a "World Latency" in the hundreds, sometimes as high as 400ms. There doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason for this to be occuring other than bad lines going into my house. I've made sure to run a dedicated coax cable to my modem and made sure there were no kinks in the line. I'm going to be getting Spectrum's modem just to see if that helps in any way but I'm really hoping I can fix the issue myself and continue to use my modem because it's much better than anything Spectrum can give me. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!Solved11KViews0likes3CommentsVPN into home network with C7000
I bought the C7000 recently, which I believed was an R7000 paired with a cable modem. Works great and I get excellent speed. I saw that the R7000 is able to set up a vpn server, but the c7000 seems to be lacking that option. So what gives? Am I missing something or is it just not possible to do with this model? Hi, I got the new Netgear C7000 (Nighthawk AC1900 cable modem - wifi router combo) as Netgear claimed it can bond with 24 downstream channels, hence better surfing experience. I had old C6300 that has 16x4 bonding, this one has 24x8. However, after I activated new modem, it still bonds 16 down and 4 up, instead of 24 down and 8 up. I called TWC, they say its Netgear issue. Called Netgear, they did not even understand initially what channel bonding is, the very point on which they are selling this modem and were of no help - they asked me to talk to TWC again!! I called TWC again this morning, they said this modem should bond with 24 channels - Note I am on the100 Mbps plan (am already getting 118 Mbps down, thanks TWC, am very satisfied customer). I personally think, a 16x4 modem can be fine with over 500mbps package as well, if TWC introduces it in future. I did factory reset on the C7000 router, still it was bonding 16x4.This is such a sham. Can someone help in advising how to allow 24 channel bonding for downstream channels.8.7KViews0likes1CommentThe Latest C7000 Firmware Update
COX cable here in Macon Georgia just updated my C7000-100NAS with Firmware version v1.01.28. Now my download and upload speed are erratic. I can't even get my 30mbps upload anymore. HEY NETGEAR, ANYONE, is there a fix to this FIRMWARE update?5.4KViews0likes2CommentsUnable to set up MoCa with new Modem/Router
I have a whole home Tivo Bolt + that I have set up with MoCa. I previous had Mediacoms DVR system and when I got the new one it worked right out the box. But when I returned the Mediacom router/modem today and bought the Nighthawk it stopped working. Is it compatible with MoCa because I cannot get my Tivo Mini's to connect to the internet at all. The tivo just keeps telling me it cannot connect to my router. So wasn't sure if I had to change a setting or if the model I bought won't work with that feature. I even tried the Ethernet + MoCa and keep getting issues with Mini not finding internet. I spent over an hour on the phone with Tivo Support and they couldn't figure it out either. Internet speeds are perfect and no issues connecting to wifi. Just didn't know if it's a setting issue or if I cannot use MoCa with this. Tivo said Bolt+ can make it's own MoCa, so I should be able to do this. Any suggestions or info?4.8KViews0likes1CommentC7000 Initial Channel Locking
I got a c7000 from someone that had upgraded to something newer, as far as I know it had been working. When trying to set it up with Comcast, they said they could see it, the self activate seems to work, when they sent reset codes to it, it lost downstream and upstream and attempted to re-aquire. However I never get an active connection, and they never see it as connected. When I go to the cable connection page, it says "Failure Your modem is offline. Please check the RF connection." Then, "Click Here to go to setting...". That link takes me to a very interesting page, showing 24 downstream and eight upstream channels, with only the first of each locked in. Even more interestingly, when the device is restarted it always starts at channel ID 31 at 687000000 Hz, power - 2.1 dBmV, SNR 40.9, which are all good values, but if I refresh the page every few minutes, the downstream channel that is locked in moves down one channel and by 6000000 Hz. Upstream does not appear to change, although I believe it has been different between different restarts. Also near the top of the page there is a startup procedure list: Aquire downstream channel, it reflects the current one locked in as described above; connectivity state, in progress params transfer complete; boot state, in progress unknown; security, disabled; ip provisioning mode, in progress unknown. I will try to post a pic, but I'm working off of my phone currently and the mobile interface is lacking attachments4.7KViews0likes2CommentsC7000 Nighthawk Parental Control not working by specific device
I have the C7000 Comcast cable modem router and have the genie app installed on my mac and iphone 6plus. I can set the global parental control for any user through opendns but I am not able to set configure device specific web content filtering from the network map in the genie app. The app shows the device is configured to high to block video sharing but I'm still able to get to youtube and espn. Anyone solve this?4.2KViews0likes3CommentsAC1900 Nighthawk reboots same exact time every day
I installed a new ac1900 dual band and it looses internet (both 2.4 and 5 signals) everyday at 12:55. The only thing I can see is that is loses the locks on both down and upstream channels. It comes back up about 10 minutes later. Comcast keeps resending a provisioning file which seems to help, although after about 10 min the router comes back on its own so that re-provisioning solution might be conincidental. I am on Firmware Version V1.01.23, I am not losing power, it impacts all devices, wired and wireless. Comcast says they don't 'see' any service interruption. Just started with this router. Anyone have suggestions? I can't see a scheduled daily reboot option anywhere, is there one?4.2KViews0likes3Comments
