Hello all, I been having issues with my internet speed connection. I have Xfinity Comcast internet, 80Mbps download and 12Mbps upload. I have Netgear CM600 modem and using that with Netgear Nighthawk wireless router. I been trying different things with restarting the router, upgrading firmware on router etc., i would get correct speeds after router restart, but shortly after maybe 10 min later i get low speeds again. And it varies anywhere from 1Mbps to 80Mbps. I use the testmy.net to test the internet speed and its very random i get anywhere in that range from 1Mbps to 80Mbps. I went out today and purchased a new linksys router for testing purposes so that i can see if the router is the issue, but i am getting the same internet speed drops on new router, which makes me think its the Cable modem thats causing the issue. That said i have also tried restarting the cable modem as well and like with router restarts, the speed are ok for 10 min and they drop again. The cable modem shows all lights in green after restart. I also went in and copied the down and up stream channels perhaps someone can make better sense out of this. I am not sure how to interpret the signals bellow? Any help would be much appreciated. Works on cell.
First off, I can load the status page fine on my cell phone. Everything works right on it. However, it looks like none of the browsers on any computer I have tried supports it correctly. I can login to it but it is messed up. It looks like this: http://imgur.com/a/7NNao When I load it on my phone it says firmware version is V1.01.12. My ISP is Comcast. I can access the cable modem status on my computer, these are results: Cable Connection Frequency start Value This field below allows you to modify the frequency the cable modem start with its scan during initialization and registration. Hi, I'm intersted in buying a new modem (CM600) that will allow me to prioritize my VoIP devices (a Polycom handset provided by my employer and a Verizon femtocell/network extender.) I've noticed in my current setup that voice calls occasionally get disturbed when my family is streaming Netflix. They often have 2 concurrent Netflix streams running while I'm making calls. I've tried searching, and have only briefly seen mention of "Advanced QoS" on the high-end modem. However, I'm unclear if this QoS is adjustable to suit my needs. I just want to provide the IP addresses of my two devices, and tell the modem that anything from those two devices gets prioritized. I'd appreciate a screenshot of the configuration screen, if available. I searched the Users' Guide, but didn't find anything. Thanks, JohnSolved4.3KViews0likes4CommentsCM600 + Router Port Forwarding
I'm trying to configure my router to port forward TCP 3389 so I can use Remote Desktop. I've tried two Netgear routers and both have the router blocking the forwarding effort. i see the router log showing an error (WLAN access rejected MAC error) so the router thinks it's protecting me from a spoofing attack when i use CanUSeeMe to check the port access. I've configured a number of netgear routers with port forwarding off of other devices but for some reason XFinity and this CM600 modem have me stumped. Any suggestions why the router is seeing any attempt to touch this port as an attack and blocking it? Thanks, PatSolved8.5KViews0likes9Comments
