Is Quality of Service (QoS) customizable on CM600?
Hi,
I'm intersted in buying a new modem (CM600) that will allow me to prioritize my VoIP devices (a Polycom handset provided by my employer and a Verizon femtocell/network extender.) I've noticed in my current setup that voice calls occasionally get disturbed when my family is streaming Netflix. They often have 2 concurrent Netflix streams running while I'm making calls. I've tried searching, and have only briefly seen mention of "Advanced QoS" on the high-end modem. However, I'm unclear if this QoS is adjustable to suit my needs. I just want to provide the IP addresses of my two devices, and tell the modem that anything from those two devices gets prioritized. I'd appreciate a screenshot of the configuration screen, if available. I searched the Users' Guide, but didn't find anything.

I have checked and there is no configuration on the CM600 for QoS settings and we will be checking with marketing to update the documents if require.

The CM600 is just a cable modem it does not have QOS settings on the device you would have to look at our Nighthawk routers for the Qos setting you can typically find screen shots for these settings in the user manual for the devices which you can find on our support page.

The PDF also mentions QoS, albeit with a DOCSIS prefix, which lead me to ask here if this was end-user configurable, or something that only the provider can access - maybe for their own voip or video services. In my case, I don't bundle my telephony with my isp charges, which leads me to wanting to manually prioritize my traffic. Also, I have a different ac-based wifi solution, and am not looking for a nighthawk replacement.
