CM600 + Router Port Forwarding

I'm trying to configure my router to port forward TCP 3389 so I can use Remote Desktop.  I've tried two Netgear routers and both have the router blocking the forwarding effort.  i see the router log showing an error (WLAN access rejected MAC error) so the router thinks it's protecting me from a spoofing attack when i use CanUSeeMe to check the port access.   I've configured a number of netgear routers with port forwarding off of other devices but for some reason XFinity and this CM600 modem have me stumped.

Any suggestions why the router is seeing any attempt to touch this port as an attack and blocking it?

Thanks, Pat

  • The mac address is my Sony Bravia TV.  I've turned that wireless off and now it is forwarding - but mcafee firewall is blocking.  i will fix that - thanks for your help.

  • The WLAN access rejected MAC error message is unrelated to port forwarding.  It is related to MAC address access control and is logged whenever a home device attempts to access the home network but has not been whitelisted.

Something else is going on.  Either you didn't set up port forwarding correctly or port forwarding is broken.

Thanks for the message.  I didn't set up MAC access control so any suggestion on how I can turn it off?
