32 TopicsCan't connect to new Orbi at 192.168.1.1 on my PC
Hi - I am having huge issues connecting to my new Orbi Configuration at http://192.168.1.1 on my main PC. I am running Win7x64 SP1. My main PC is connected to one of the Orbi Router's Ethernet ports. It's an odd situation that I haven't run across before. I'm connected to the Internet just fine on my main PC, but whenever I try to connect to the Orbi from my main PC on Chrome, I see a "This site can't be reached. The connection was reset." error. I can connect and configure the Orbi through my laptop PC at 192.168.1.1, which is also wired to the Orbi router through a slightly longer path. I can connect and configurt the Orbi through my Android tablet at 192.168.1.1 via WiFi. I was able to get to my Netgear R6300v2 router via 192.168.1.1 on my main PC before I installed the Orbi. I can get to the Orbi configuration page on my main PC if I change the base IP address of the Orbi to something else, like: 192.168.1.10 I have tried other browsers (Internet Explorer 11 and Firefox). No luck there. This is obviously PC-specific, but I am at a loss. Any ideas? This is driving me nutz. AzJazzSolvedConfigure netgear to my smart tv
I recently bought a samsung link stick to connect my smart tv to the internet wirelessly. I was told my the Netgear support that I will need to configure my netgear router to connect to my television in order to have internet capability, however he wanted to charge $200 to do so, hence he sent me to this forum. I think he said that certain ports are not open and would need to be in order to get a wireless connection. Can ANYONE please help me??? This has been on ongoing issue passed back and forth from my internet provider, cable provider and Samsung. NOW it seems as if we have a way to resolve it, however I have no idea how to do it without guidance. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!20KViews1like11CommentsInsight 4.0 is Here! I just replaced my pair of Airport Extremes with a new Orbi setup (one base/router and one wall plug satellite). I updated to the latest firmware during the setup. With one exception, everything works: iphone, ipad, macbook, windows laptop, appletv, wemo's, epson printer, tv, roku. The exception is my Neato Botvac Connected. Wifi setup on the Neato is much like a Wemo or a Fitbit scale... you connect to the device's internal wifi, have it scan for local SSIDs, choose your SSID and password, then it connects to your wifi. But the Botvac never connects. I've gone through all the basic and advanced steps; I've rebooted and reset; I've done it all. I've also opened a support request with Neato, but haven't seen a reply. What gets me is it worked just fine with the old Airport Extreme network, but refuses to work with the Orbi's. When it fails, the Neato app links out to a support doc referring to ports 80/443 being blocked. My experience is they're only blocked inbound, not outbound. And again... it works with the AE's with no special setup. I went so far as to do a MAC reservation to guarantee the Neato's IP, then added a rule to forward ports 80 and 443 to that IP and retried. It failed with the exact same error. So with everything but the Neato working and with no response from Neato support, I'm wondering if any other Orbi users have a working Neato Botvac Connected? If so, what did you do to get it working? I do have beamforming and MU-MIMO enabled. I've seen notes about those disconnecting older devices like Ring doorbells. But in this case, the Botvac cannot connect at all... its not connecting and then disconnecting. Wondering if I need to disable beamforming and mu-mimo? Last thing, the Neato has the latest firmware installed.EX7300 randomly drops connection
I have a netgear WNDR4500v3 that works great. I've had it now for a year and I'm very happy. I had an old extender 2.4Ghz only for a while and it worked ok, but was a little slow and when a number of devices connected it started having issues, so I upgraded to an EX7300 recently. I installed it recently and configured it to use 5G-only with the router and 2.4G only with client devices. The setup went smoothly, all my devices connected fine and it seemed to work fine for a week or so. A couple of days ago it looked like I lost internet connection, but instead it was the extender not working. I didn't have time to check right away, but a couple of hours later all was working again so I didn't bother. It happened again today, I logged into the router and the extender was not listed among the "attached devices". I power cycled and now everything seems to be working OK. I don't see anything strange in the logs of the router and I can't find the logs in the extender. I saw another post about changing channels, but since I'm using two separate bands I assume that's not my issue. Any ideas?Solved8.7KViews0likes5CommentsWLAN config changes not possible
Hi Guys, I got a problem with my R8000. At the moment its broadcasting the default configured SSID, but for security purpose I want to configure my own SSID / PSK. But this doesn't seems to be possible. When I try to save a change on the SSID / PSK Menu, it gets cancelled: This DFS-Channel cant be used because a radar gets detected. (Error message in german, I translated it, so therefore it could be, that it isnt the exact error message on a english ui) BUT: The error appears even if the second 5G-Radio isn't even turned on, so therefore this shouldnt bother. Further, the first 5G-Radio is sending on a non-DFS-Channel, so this couldnt be the problem either. For me this seems to be a bug. I'm using V1.0.3.4_1.1.2 which seems to be the latest version. kind regards, AndreasSolved8.3KViews0likes12CommentsConfiguration issue with ReadyNAS Ultra 2 Plus on OS 6.2.4
I just upgraded my ReadyNAS Ultra 2plus (x86) from OS 4.2.27 to OS 6.2.4. And Yes, I do know this is not supported by Netgear. I followed the instructions from a previous thread posted on 4/1/2013 R4toR6_Prep_Addon.bin (26 KB) (upload first, don't reboot, avoids the need for manual factory default in between) R4toR6_6.1.9.bin (51.8 MB) (upload after addon) Everything worked fine and the system appears to be running fine, except one small issue. When I view the configuration under "System" then "Volumes", I see the wrong image of my ReadyNAS hardware. What I am getting looks like a Rackmount picture when I am using a Desktop Ultra 2 plus. See below: The picture configuration is correct on the "System" then "Overview" screen. Did I do something wrong? Is there a way to correct this? For now I have two new 6TB drives installed with no data on them yet. Hoping for a quick good answer.Solved8.2KViews0likes4CommentsDHCP IP address conflict using Wnr2200 as wireless access point in a Windows network
Hi everibody, I'm using a WNR2200 router only as a wi-fi access point to our lan, which has already a DHCP server. The lan DHCP server is excluding some address in a range (e.g. from .50 to .100) since these addresses are used by some server to give them a static IP in our lan. WNR2200 too has its lan address in that range. DHCP server in WNR2200 is disabled, so any device wi-fi connected should use the lan DHCP server, but in the last days some wireless attached device has an IP in that excluded range (e.g. a smartphone connects and gets the .74 IP), so sometimes we have an IP conflict. We haven't changed anything both in the WNR2200 configuration and in the DHCP server configuration, but this wrong ip assignment is still happening also after a server and /or WNR2200 reboot. How may I prevent the WNR2200 access point to assign a "forbidden" IP to a wi fi connected device? Thank you in advance for your help.SolvedFast Roaming with Insight Premium
I have 3 WAC510s and have signed up for the 7-day free trial of Insight Premium. I wanted to explore the Fast Roaming setting but I can't find it anywhere, nor can I find the new Access Control functionality. Where is it? Or is it not available on the free trial?7.4KViews0likes7CommentsCase Studies: Real Small Business Using Insight Management #Webinar #Video
