parental controls malfunctioning and disabling all internet access
Hi - I have a D7800 router at home and use parental controls frequently - generally from my Android phone. Yesterday they started misbehaving and it got worse over time. 1. Genie said one of my devices was on bypass login, and therefore could not set the parental control level. I don't use bypass login and have not given the password to anyone. None the less I restarted the device and Genie but no change. Genie on Windows showed the parental controls level I expected and allowed me to change levels. 2. Troubles continued. This morning Genie on Android said all devices on my network were on bypass login. 3. I tried updating router firmware. No improvement, plus problems with Windows Genie. If I set a parentals control level for a device, it would not stay set and reverted to the previous setting. 4. Reset router to factory settings. Once I got through reconfiguring the router, things worked OK. I set up parental controls again. This stopped all internet traffic. I turned parental controls off again. Internet still off. Problem was related to DNS servers not responding, so I set DNS servers to the ISP recommended IP addresses. Internet access back. So now I have no parental controls in place for my children until this is fixed. I bought Netgear because of the parental control features. Not happy. So Netgear - given this has only happened in the last couple of days, affects two versions of the router firmware and affects Genie on both Android and Windows (where I have not updated Genie recently), the most obvious guess is some recent issue with OpenDNS. Alternatively, my router may just be collapsing. Appreciate quick resolution. This is a major feature which is grossly not working. If no quick resolution then I will make a warranty claim on the router. If this is happening to other people, you will have lots of warranty claims.Live Parental Controls Stopped Working
Model: Nighthawk X4S D7800 Firmware: V1.0.1.10 OS: iPad with latest Genie software and iMac (Sierra) with latest Genie software I originally setup parental controls when I purchased the router, 4 months ago without incident. Recently it is no longer working. The Web UI shows NOT ENABLED under the Parental Controls Icon I can log into netgear.opendns.org in a web browser on either device with my credentials without issue. When I try and log in to Parental Controls in Genie on my iPad the UI just sits on Signing into OpenDNS... forever. In Genie on my Mac it tries to log in and then returns could not log in, check your internet connection. On both devices I get invalid user name or password if I intentially enter them wrong, so it is certainly communicating with the server. I expect it's something wrong with my Router, but no idea what to look at. Any advice would be appreciated.d7800 e netgear downloader
ciao a tutti ho provato a netgear downloader per scaricare con torrent ma ho un problema, specifico prima che -Ho l'ultimo firmware installato -Ho connesso un toshiba hd esterno 3.0 da 2 tb riconosciuto dal modem -Ho impostato il salvataggio sul suddetto hd esterno Il software del modem riconosce il file torrent, lo inserisce in coda ma rimane in "sospeso" cioè non parte il download, anche schiacciando sul tasto "riprendi" dopo aver flaggato il file torrent (o i file torrent visto che ne ho provati parecchi) il download non parte Ho letto che altri utenti del 7800 hanno avuto questo problema ma non ho trovato una soluzione in rete. qualcuno è riuscito ad usare questa funzione? ho acquistato il router leggendo di questa funzione interessante ma sono un po' deluso che non funziona grazie in anticipo a chi saprà aiutarmi
