Hi everyone, in view of the latest WannaCry/Crypt attack on 12 May 2017, Microsoft recommended to patch my Windows 10 OS and disable SMB 1.0/CIFS File Sharing Support. Check this link: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/disable-smb1-windows So I disabed SMB1 and now I lost access to all my shares on my RND2000V2 NAS. Since I had to access my NAS shares, I have re-enabled SMB1, but now I also have a security hole. Does anyone know (including Netgear tech staff) how to access the network shares with SMB1 disabled? Currently I cannot achieve this, and can only think that a firmware upgrade would do this to use either SMB2 or SMB3. My current firmware is 5.3.12 (latest). Thnak you. Cannot see/access/satisfy-password on ReadyNAS NV+ and ReadyNAS 516 on Windows 10 home -- after the Windows update last week. Now: Windows 10 home, Version 1511, OS Build 10586.11 I simply want to use a mapped network drive and Windows explorer. (Nothing remote or fancy.) Any Ideas on how to fix this?Solved62KViews1like20CommentsI can't map network drive in Windows 10 home
I have a readyNAS duo that I can't map in windows 10, limits the functionality of drag and drop file storage. I can FTP into the NAS from the computer. The Windows File Explorer sees the drive in the Network but clicking on it opens the admin web page for the ReadyNAS. I have tried to add the LSA compatability in the registy and stopped using a PIN in favor of password to sign on to windows. This is really annoying.Solved61KViews0likes18CommentsMust enter username/password to access NAS
Hello, I have 3 PC machines running Windows. With 2 of them I do not need to enter an username/password when accessing the network drive through explorer. On one of the machines, which is completely reinstalled, I must enter a username and password everytime I want to access the drive through explorer. Why?? There is an option to save the credentials but when logged in as an admin (since I don't have any other users) I also see the volumes. On the other 2 machines do not see the volumes nor have I ever had to log in. I believe the RN 102 asking for credentials started after a firmware update. (The 2 pc's not asking for credentials have not been reinstalled recently) Thanks, DanielSolved58KViews0likes18CommentsWindows 10 Install: no longer able to access NAS shares
Hi, I upgraded 3 days a go to Windows 10 Enterprise build 16299. It was an installation from scratch I sadly have no longer access to any of my SMB shares. Access was working on Windows 7: see image below - I tried dropping to SMB1 in SMB Application + reboot both PC and NAS: no success - I disabled IPV6 under LAN adapter in Windows 10: no success - I enabled every sharing option under Windows 10 for both Private and Public networks: no success Using cmd in admin console to map the network share: net use * /delete net use t: \\nas-ip-address\data /user:admin nas-admin-password Under the shell cmd, I have access to the shares and their listing through drive T: However, it is wired that Explorer GUI cannot access to the T: drive. So I still cannot see my shares in GUI Under Explorer, I can see the NAS: - under "Media Devices", and brows the DLNA folders - under "Storage", double clicking brings the NAS web admin GUI - under "Computer", named correctly "NAS-01": but if I try to access the shares it gives me a "Network access error" I attach above the image with my error Please help me fix this asap, I am lost and really need the SMB access to manage my backupsSolved43KViews0likes5CommentsPlex Cloud Alternative - ReadyNAS NAS Storage

OK, so I just upgraded to Win 10 and now I've lost contact with the ReadyNAS. In file explorer I can see it under NETWORK. When I select it I get the error: "Network Error" "Windows cannot access \\NETSTORE" Not problem running RAIDar (4.3.8) and no problem getting to the settings with Chrome. All indications are that it is running fine (Raidator 5.3.11). I can access it with other computers on the network (all running Win 7.) The previous mapped network drives also error out. I can see the device as a media device under explorer (using the full name as "This PC\NETSTORE: ReadyNAS Duo v2" and I can navigate to the media folders. I can access the music files, some of the picture files, but not the video files. Everything has been updated to the latest version. Everything has been rebooted. Any help would be greatly appreciated.Solved34KViews0likes17Comments[SOLVED] - You need permission to perform this actioN
Got the ReadyNAS Duo V2 for two days now. And i must say that so far i have been a bit disappointed. I keep running intro problem that i thought just would work as I've got it. But here i am. I got my Duo setup for the network and i can access the ip. I've added a shortcut to NAS-A0-BC-BE. Whenever i try to delete a file in NAS-A0-BC-BE/media it says i need admin rights to do so. "You require permission from Unix User\\root to make changes to this folder" Here is a picture of my setting for the folder: Thanks in advantage. [SOLVED] I made a user with name and password, gave him the rights to read/write. Pressed "Reset Permissions" under the settings for the folder. And was then able to delete the files i wanted deleted.Solved24KViews0likes1Comment
