Insight AP
49 TopicsAllow to rename Clients
It would be immensely helpful to be able to add/edit names of client devices. It would be heck of a lot easy to figure out what each device is... Should be whatever system gets by default and then allowing user to edit, so I can name something like "Printer by Coffee machine"4.7KViews25likes8CommentsNetgear Insight should support WPA2-Ent with AES encryption
Netgear Insight, although I think targeted toward businesses, does not support compliant WPA2 Enterprise. It forces TKIP+AES mixed mode. It is impossible to enforce WPA2 Enterprise on an Insight managed device. The devices are capable, but you have to unmanage a device and set CCMP-AES manually on the local interface, and that AP can never be managed by Insight, or it will change the encryption from AES back to TKIP+AES mixed mode.875Views4likes0CommentsINSIGHT PRO URL TRACKING
Hi, In France, we must be able to provide our internet wifi logs for 1 year. With or Without captive portal. I know we can do it with captiv portal (web history). But actually we can not do it if we don't use captive portal. I can find in the management interface of wifi access point WAXxxx the possibility to activate "url tracking" but logs doesn't stay for a long time and we need to connect to each wifi access point to find and download them. We know we can do it with snmp too but custommers will need a new system to manage it. It coudl be very useful to have the possibility to activate url tracking from insight. By this way we could have the possibility to generate the web history (internet logs) for all access points/devices/SSID without captive portal. Captiv portal is not ergonomic for inside machine and users. Thanks in advanced fir your reply2.7KViews3likes2CommentsInsight Clients module - add more wireless fields to help investigations
In the client section of the Insight App, it would be useful to see additional information against each device, for instance, which channel frequency are they using 2.4 to 5Ghz, what channel are they using, what 802.11xx mode are they using, what WPA mode did they authenticate with, the RSSI signal strength, are they using a private MAC address (on a modern phone) - adding fields (and others) such as these into the Client's page would help with diagnosing connection problems. Also would be good to be able to click on a client in the browser and see its history, so when it connect, disconnect, change AP if roamed, connect again etc, so we can see a history of the wireless client with relevant fields that will allow us to diagnose connectivity problems.1.4KViews3likes2CommentsWAC720 Supported on Insight
Would you please allow the WAC720 access points to be usable on Insight? Without Insight compatibility, impending discontinuation of Business Central will remove cloud management functionality from these devices that were purchased only 1 year ago. Thank you in advance!1.4KViews3likes1CommentBR500 VPN router firmware/user interface port forward missing features
Firmware V5.10.0.3 The old FVS338 had all of the below features and worked great. I'm surprised and very disappointed they are missing from the BR500. Custom services are always enabled unless deleted. An enable/disable check box on each service would be very useful. Currently you have to delete the custom service to disable and create the custom service from scratch to enable. This extremely inconvenient. There is a severe security problem with port forwarding custom services. Open ports are exposed to the whole world. The ability to limit port exposure to a specific external IP or a range of specific IPs would solve this security problem. It is extremely important to implement this safeguard.752Views3likes0CommentsAdd Linux Support to the Insight Instant VPN Client
I have a BR500 and purchased the Insight Instant VPN service for it. Overall, the Insight Instant VPN service is nice as I can manage who I let into the VPN and It's an easy way to get into my routers network remotely. While I can get the VPN to work from my home Windows based PC, I also have several Linux machines that I would like to be able to connect to the VPN with. I've already been in contact with support and the conclusion was that this is somehow not supported or they had no settings they could give me to manually configure a connection. I'd be happy with just some settings that I could use to manually configure a connection to the Inisight Instant VPN on Linux (e.g., Protocol, Gateway, etc.). If for some reason there is something that can't be disclosed then a Linux version of the app would be great too. I just want to be able to use the service through my Linux machines.3.9KViews3likes2Comments
