Orbi System: Disable automatic firmware updates
Although automatic firmware updates should probably be the default, there should be a method (easily accessible in the firmware settings) to disable firmware auto-updates. The foregoing would allow those experiencing issues with the latest firmware to remain on an earlier version.
Next Orbi Firmware must allow guests to see each other but not access Lan
The Orbi Guest Network settings has checkbox option for, "Allow guests to see each other and access my local network". These TWO options must be separated as other routers do. Others before me have pointed out how having these two options treated as one is a security flaw, and defeats the whole point of having a GUEST network. Guests may want to play games with other, use their wireless printer or connect their phones to Chromecast. They should be be able to do this without having access to the entire main network. I have one problem device that, for some reason, always chooses the Satellite Orbi instead of the Router Orbi, which is always the furtherest away from the device. The Router Orbi is by far the closer one to the device. I can reboot the network and the device will connect to the Router, but will eventually creep back to the Satellite for whatever reason. It's a stationary device (TV) and never moves. I'd like to request to have a feature implemented that will allow us to "force" or designate a specific device to a specific Orbi. I know they plan on releasing a firmware that will allow us to customize how the lights on top act (always on, etc), which I hope gets released soon! Also, a Guest Network feature would rock!Orbi and Ring products issues
I recently switched from one router + repeater to the Orbi system. No installation problem. When I first connected my Ring Doorbell and 2 Ring Spotlight cameras, no connection issues. One camera connected to the Router, while the Doorbell and the other camera connected to one satellite each. Motion was detected and reported. Live View worked. All was well. Then I started to notice problems with Live View. If there was no motion detected for a while, then Live View would show a black screen (or could not connect). Motion would restore the Live View for 15-30 minutes. I checked the connected devices, and the Dorrbell and camera connected to the satellites would not show in the list. After motion they would show. The camera connected to the router would always be in the list and show Live View with no issue. Testing further, I turned off the 2 satellites and brought one camera back on the house to be close enough to get a signal. Now all are connected to the Router and I have no Live View issue anymore. Therefore it seems there is a problem when Ring products connect to a satellite. I tried all suggestions mentioned on this forum, no luck. Anybody noticed the same issue? Any solution?QOS- priority by device
How do I setup high priority for one device in my network over all other devices? Einer der Vorteile von Orbi ist die drahtlose Verbindung zwischen Router und Satelliten. Auch diese wird jedoch in mehrgeschossigen Gebäuden, insbesondere modern mit Stahlbeton gebauten, an ihre Grenzen kommen. Gerade in diesen modernen Gebäuden ist häufig bereits eine LAN-Verkabelung vorhanden, die hervorragend genutzt werden könnte, um einen Router und mehrere Satelliten zu verbinden und somit das gesamte Haus mit den anderen Vorteilen von Orbi zu versorgen - schnelles WLAN, einfache Einrichtung, Design, das sich nicht in der Besenkammer verstecken muss. Um dies zu ermöglichen, müsste eine solche Verbindung jedoch softwaremäßig unterstützt werden, in Sachen Hardware sind die Orbi Router und Satelliten offensichtlich bereits ausreichend ausgerüstet. Ich persönlich würde erst dann einen Kauf von Orbi in Betracht ziehen. MfG, Robert
