So, many, MANY, years ago, my workplace merged with another company, and as part of that merger, I took over their IT system, which consisted of a few peer-to-peer PCs and a central storage system consisting of two ReadyNAS devices, one primary and one backup. Some time later, the backup NAS failed. Rather than fix or replace it, I opted to move to a cloud storage backup system instead, and the old unit was shelved. Fast forward to the modern day, amid a bunch of other IT problems cropping up (mainly, the current state of Microsoft OneDrive causing a cascade of problems with the cloud backup), the question of the the longevity of our current NAS device was raised. By my best estimation, that NAS has been going strong for upwards of 11 years now, and while it's performance has been incredible, it's at a point where it could fail at any moment. As part of the disaster recovery planning, the decision was made to try to refurbish the old backup NAS, just in case an immediate replacement is necessary before a full replacement can be purchased and implmented. That brings me to my current issue. The old NAS is able to power up, but then all the lights go out and it doesn't load anything. I have probed the Hard Drives on my PC, and while I haven't been able to access the files directly, the disks themselves seem to be fully functional. Most worryingly, attempting to access the Boot Menu with the reset button has failed entirely. Any advice of how I can get this old thing functional again? Preserving the data doesn't matter, they're just outdated backups, I just need to get the NAS Enclosure itself functional and active.mdadm: command not found
My ReadyNAS 628x had 7 drives, I added another to have 4X12 TB and 4X16TB. It now has a raid5 and raid6. I'm trying to use the method I used the last time which requires logging into the shell with puTTy and calling mdadm --grow /dev/md127 --level=5 --raid-devices=8 --force --verbose But I'm getting -bash: mdadm: command not found What's going on?Solved10Gb NIC daughterboard for the RR4312
Hi there! I recently acquired a RR3312 array, and would like to get the daughterboard for the 10Gb NIC that the 4312 series uses. I have scoured the docs, and a part number isn't listed. I'm hoping that someone has a 4312 and can get me a couple of photo's or part numbers to search on. Thanks!Prb sur une baie Nas 10400

Hello I have a ReadyNAS Duo has been working fine until yesterday when I was accessing it thru web interface (via Raidar 4.3.8), I got some warning messages due to Power failures in the house, but at the time the ReadyNAS was working fine, I read the logs and deleted it. Some time later access was lost to the ReadyNAS and I couldnt reach it from http or via mapped folders in windows. I restarted the RaedyNAS and it started to act as it was synching the two discs in the RAID 1 that i set it up with, hence flashing blue LED Power button and small yellow blinking led. Now it got stuck in this state for more than 24h, still flashng blue led (slow flashing) and no access, besides it comes up in the RAIDar with a blue Icon to the left (I Think I read it means that a "lenghty background task is executing). I know the unit is old, but I need the data on the discs. 1 - Any help to 1 get it working again, or if not possible, 2- how to move the data to new NAS cheers MikaelRN10211D flashing power light
Hi. I have a now (for some time now!) EOL RN102 which foolishly I am still using. I powered it off/on today and subsequently the power light now repeatedly flashes twice and pauses. On searching for a reason for this it seems it may be an issue with the SODIMM card? Is there anything I can do about that? I did try one suggestion of removing the side panels and top plate to give access to the card but there was no card under the top plate. If not, can I remove the 2 disks and put them into a newer supported product? I do very much need to salvage the data as it isn't backed up anywhere else. Doh.apt.readynas.com
apt.readynas.com has been down for a while (perhaps because ReadyNAS products are all EoL). This creates a real problem after customers do a factory reset of their ReadyNAS, as they often need access to the Netgear repos hosted on this server to get their NAS back to it's original state. Can Netgear please restore access to these repos (either on apt.readynas.com or perhaps on github)? No point in moving this to the ReadyNAS forum, as there are no Netgear mods who are following posts there. Posting this here is an attempt to escalate.
