I have a one-month old C6300 Cable modem/router - provisioned through Time Warner Cable. My connection seems to be fine, but in the C6300 software on the dashboard it says my internet connection is "In Progress" and its color is red. I have the most recent firmware that came from TWC: V1.02.19 When I click on the internet connection, the message on the next screen says "failure" "your modem is offline" even though it is connected. On the next "cable connection" screen, the channels for upstream and downstream all show as disconnected "not locked". Should I really be concerned, or just leave it alone if everything is actually (finally) working?19KViews0likes7Commentstrying to bridge C6300 to WNDR3400v2
Upstairs NETGEAR Gateway C6300 (new) 192.168.1.1 replaced [A0] WNDR3700v2 (I needed a DOCSYS 3.0 cable modem) Downstairs NETGEAR WNDR3400v2 192.168.1.100 is a cable modem and router. I want to be a wireless bridge/repeater for . For the life of me, after many hours of trying, I cannot get and to see each other. With my laptop I can separately log into either one. Before I replaced [A0] with , could be a bridge/repeater for [A0] just fine. I just can't seen to get that setup now that I've bought A. It would be VERY impractical to connect A and B with an ethernet cable. broadcasts an SSID on 5GHz with WPA2. DHCP is On. does NOT broadcast an SSID on 2.4GHz, is set to Ch9 with no encryption. has the radio on 5GHz turned OFF. DHCP is Off. does NOT broadcast an SSID on 2.4GHz, is set to Ch9 with no encryption. (apparently bridging requires no encryption and both units on the same channel) The intention is the two units should talk to each other privately on 2.4GHz. has set up "Enable Wireless Repeating Function", IPaddr 192.168.1.100, Base Station MAC Address set to 's MAC. has an entry in its registered hosts with 's IPaddr and MAC. I would think that and should at least see (ping) each other, but they can't, and I have no idea why. Netmask is 255.255.255.0 throughout. Thanks for any suggestions. I've been working on this for hours/days, and it's been extremely frustrating.13KViews0likes9CommentsFrequent disconnects
Hello I have a C6300(AC1750) modem router and I've been experiencing frequent disconnects. They last for about a minute. Its very noticeable when streaming Netflix, a Skype video call or online gaming, though you can notice on web browsing because everything just stops loading for a period. I've tried wired and wireless(with my netgear usb adapter) but it makes no difference. We do have a Motorola surfboard connectted via Ethernet so we can have wifi in the garage where the signal is non existent. It is also a router/modem but I turned off dhcp. This happens on my phone, laptops desktops... if anyone could provide assistance I'd be grateful.12KViews0likes6CommentsDelay Before I Can Access Network With C6300
I have a C6300-100NAS WiFi Cable Modem Router. Each time I reboot my system there is a 5-10 minute delay before I can access the modem/router or my NAS which is connected to the router (NAS is connected through Ethernet cable not USB). Any ideas on what could cause this behavior? Model - C6300-100NAS* Firmware - V1.02.2110KViews0likes3CommentsC6300 Voice line question (EMTA will brick the C6300?)
I just added voice line to my comcast account because it was the only way to lower my bill. The technician told me that once the voice line was active, the C6300 cable modem would not longer work because the line would interrupt the internet reception, so I need a cable modem with EMTA capabilities. Is he correct? I have no plans to use the voice line. Can I just get some sort of EMTA splitter? I would prefer to keep my Netgear C6300. Frustrated if this is true, because I've been very satisfied with the C6300.9.6KViews0likes1CommentC6300 DynDNS access problem
I can not login via iPhone app to a couple of local services (CCTV & Security) on my network via the C6300's wifi while using my dns address (example johndoe.dipmap.com). The services work fine when I am using the iPhone/iPad on 4G/LTE. The "apps" do work when addressed/routed with wifi using their actual address (192.168.0.6). My DNS address actually worked for the 1st day after installation until I started adding devices to the Reserved Lan IP address table. Any ideas? This C6300 is an upgrade from my CG3000D which has been performing properly for a couple of years. This upgrade is to increase wifi range and bandwidth.9.2KViews0likes1CommentR6300-AC1750 Router doesn't connect to CM600
My R6300 Router will not connect to my new netgear CM600 cable modem. The internet light remains amber. I've done the appropriate power down/reboots on the modem and router with no success. I've done the MAC spoofing of the address of the computer that I used to set up the CM600 on the R6300 with no success. I can connect directly to the CM600 modem with a laptop and internet is fine (the modem is activated with my ISP). Firmware is up to date on all equipment. Additionally the router connects to my CM400 without issue and connected to a previous CM600 before its WAN port died. Does anyone have thoughts as to what I should try next to troubleshoot this?Solved7.7KViews0likes16CommentsR6300 Ethernet slow connection
This router has worked great for the past three years. I have a new ISP (Grande Communications) getting 400 Mbps and now all of a sudden the Ethernet ports out of the 6300 router are almost half of what comes out of the modem (Arris DG2470). I've tried all of the router ethernet ports with the same result. I updated the router with the latest firmware three days ago. Tried two new cat 6 cables from the modem to the router and PC. I've tested on multiple computers with the same results. Yet still only get around 180+ Mbps wired out of the router, but am getting 400+ out of the modem. Cat6 from modem to router is six feet. There is only one ethernet cable out of the router plus no active wireless devices devices when I test. The wireless on the Arris modem is disabled so there is no conflict. I would prefer sticking with a seperate wireless instead of using the wireless on the Arris modem. Plus I use OPEN DNS for family site filterning. (I did a test disabling OPEN DNS with both Google DNS and ISP DNS servers with same results. I also have two TIVO mini, but they are using the MoCA connection off the modem (not wifi). The Internet and cable TV come into the house on two seperate feeds. Grande recently installed fiber in my neighborhood, that's why I left Time Warner who only offered 50Mbps. Many time the wireless speed is faster than the wired ethernet. Go figure. I haven't called the cable company yet as they do not support seperate routers. I suppose I could use their wireless (built into the modem) but prefer having more control over my network. I'm at a loss as to why this problem occured and need advice on other options to troubleshoot. Thank you in advance for your comments.Solved
