New RN202 with a Mac Questions
I am just setting up a new ReadyNAS 202 and am having several issues. I have set up the admin account and also set myself up as a separate account as a "User" so I can interact from my Mac as a regular user but now I'm questioning if I need that account since I see that my admin ID (the ID I used to create the ReadyCloud account) has a private Home folder already. I have also set up a user account for my wife but I cvan't figure out how to connect her account to ReadyCloud. In looking on line, it says there should be a place to enter her email address since it is already in the system but the only place to enter her email is to invite her for full access but that results in an error message that her email is already in the system. How do I get her remote access as a user registered in the system? How does she actually "sign in" to the system the first time so that her private Home folder is created? Finally (for now), I have the ReadyNAS listed on the Finder sidebar three times under the Shared section. One is for the SMB connection, one for the AFP protocol and one is just a general connection. Is there a way to remove two of them? Also, none of them show the private Home folder that is set up as part of my admin ReadyCloud account. I've been trying to figure this out for a couple fo days and I'm pretty frustrated. Any help would be appreciatred. Thanks.

rsyslog writing to syslog.1 after logrotate since upgrading to 6.5.2
Hi, Ever since upgrading to ReadyNAS 6.5.2 a couple days ago, each morning at 6:25am when the logrotate happens the syslog file rotation happens normally, but then rsyslog keeps writing to syslog.1 instead of the, now empty, syslog file. As you can imagine this screws up the LogAnalyzer add-on app in ReadyNAS, leaving it empty also. The "workaround" I've found so far is to reboot the RN202. Doing a # service rsyslog restart doesn't seem to be enough to get it working again, a full reboot is required. I've also tried: # apt-get update && apt-get upgrade rsyslog ... Calculating upgrade... rsyslog is already the newest version. ... # rsyslogd -f/etc/rsyslog.conf -N1 rsyslogd: version 5.8.11, config validation run (level 1), master config /etc/rsyslog.conf rsyslogd: End of config validation run. Bye. # rsyslogd -f/etc/rsyslog.conf -N3 rsyslogd: version 5.8.11, config validation run (level 3), master config /etc/rsyslog.conf rsyslogd: End of config validation run. Bye. Newbie with Readynas 202 looking for point of contact...
I'm a newbie with a Readynas 202. I'd like a point of contact who can answer questions I have about basic set up and security, ready cloud for windows, questions I have about what the different abbreviations are in my settings..whether they should be on or off, what they mean , and when each protocol is used and for what purposes. My previous server was a HP EX487 Media Smart Server that had an awesome GUI and was EXTREMELY simple to use. All the menu items were clearly written in plain user friendly English. So basically. I know what I want to do, I know that the RN202 will do it, I just don't know where to begin. Probably the best thing for me to do is paste screen shots of my questions. I'd just like a single point of contact who'd be willing to guide me. I.m fairly good at self teaching through trial and error, but I'd really like to get my server set up and working ASAP.

RN202 connection does not accept username/password
Hi, I just started using a new RN202. Setup works fine, Updated to the latest firmware version. I created a folder and want to connect using a drive letter form my Windows 10 desktop. The first step works fine, it accepts the share name: //Nas2/media/Gebruikers For the share I switched on SMB and anonymous access The Windows asks for a "reference" user and password I tried to: a) ignore it b) use the admin username and password c) create a user,and enter that username/password tried my windows username (not password protected) Nothing seems to work. How do I get access? It is nowhere described in a simple way in the software manual. I want anonymous access without password. So, not very happy at the moment. This takes far too much time. Hope someone can help me out. Thanks in advance. Rudolf

RN202 - Se attivo il Wake on lan e lo spengo si riavvia automaticamente dopo circa 7 sec
ReadyNAS 202 OS 6.9.0 Ho provato ad attivare la funzione Wake on lan poi ho spento il nas ma si riavvia sempre automaticamente dopo circa 7 sec. Se provo a disattivarlo non mi da più questo problema ma è un peccato non usufruire di questa funzione. Qualche idea?

Can't connect to new Windows 10 computer
I just switched to a new Wondows 10 computer. My RN 202 was working fine under the old computer. I can see it and work with it on my router just fine. After many hours of searching and frustration, I have loaded all the newest versions of software that I can find and searched this Community for help. Nothing has worked. Why is such a simplething so difficult????? All my other devices hooked up just fine. Tired and frustrated

RN202 - Cannot uninstall application IDrive
Hi, I have an RN202 running the latest firmware 6.9.3. After rebooting, on the admin page I noticed all the installed apps display their names but their icons are missing. Since space was running low on the system volume, and the iDrive app seemed to be chewing up more space over time, I tried to uninstall it from the RN202 admin page but it failed with an email saying "Cannot uninstall application IDrive". How to enable clean urls in drupal
Recently bought a rn202 to replace a duo. no more Wordpress so I installed drupal nice but ... No clean url ... i need that for verification by Google (business) mod_rewrite is enabled in apache2 , .htaccess has I far as I can see the correct syntax .. however , there are a lot of .htaccess files in Drupal and I do really not understand how this app (or any other) works. I understand that Apache also runs front view, and such but well ... Any help appreciated!

ReadyNAS RN202 activity light flashing 30 minutes after boot up
Firmware 6.5.1, RN202 At each boot of my RN202 NAS Box (RAID 1 2TB disks with 400GB of data on), the blue activity light flashes for 30 minutes and i can hear the disks being accessed. I have bit rot switched on all shares. I can still access all my data in this time. is the system doing an automatic file scrub, everytime on boot? If so how do i do find out? I cant see anything in the logs

RN202 streaming to SMART TV
I'm wondering, if I'm trying to do something, that is not possible, or if there is an error in the system/setup. I have just installed my ReadyNAS 202 with 2 harddrives and uploaded a few video files. Same way as I did with my old STORA drive, but I guess this ReadyNas has some more options to play with and should be stronger. When I start my SmartTV (Samsung HT-E6500/XE) I can sometimes find the STORA box via AllShare, but never the ReadyNAS I have installed the PLEX app on both the RN202 and the SmartHub, and via PLEX I can find and watch the videos; but I would really like to find it directly in the AllShare folder from the loading screen, which would also make it more easy to listne to music. Since I get small glitches with PLEX, I guess it would also be better to stream it directly, no? Is it possible to set it up, like I want with the AllShare function, or is PLEX the only way?
