Apparently Armor has blocked a device. However I did not see this device in the blocked list, on top of it my Armor subscription has ended. This does not allow me to use it anymore, will this also mean that I get a “fresh” start and nothing is being blocked anymore, also the divices/IP’s that were previously in the block-list? Nighthawk CAX30 cable modem router (I can only select the CAX30S as an Associated Product but this is definitely a CAX30). Formerly, firmware 2.3.10. Purchased Netgear Armor to be sure that was -not- the issue. Followed both steps in Netgear's kb about CAX30 not connecting to internet. Downgraded firmware to 1.4.11.2 based on suggestion from users in Netgear and/or Xfinity forums. Only did so after all other suggestions from Netgear and Xfinity had no impact on the issue. My Netgear Armor subscription is no longer recognized by my Nighthawk CAX30. My preference would be for a full refund because I bought it under the impression that something was faulty on my end. It now appears there was something faulty on Netgear's end, given that the firmware is no longer available for download. I'm currently staring at a bright red banner in this forum that says, "We are aware of an issue affecting Nighthawk CAX30 Cable Modem Routers that may have resulted in an interruption of internet service. For instructions to restore Internet connectivity click here." but the linked kb article says nothing about downgrading from a retracted firmware. This feels like an oversight at best, disingenuous and false advertising at worst given that Netgear is failing to disclose that the fault appears to lie in their own firmware, not a subsequent setting. Also notable that the now-retracted firmware (2.3.10) was in response to a serious security flaw (PSV-2022-0195) and I'm now being forced to choose between exposing myself to this vulnerability -OR- purchasing a brand new, usable device. How do I get a refund for a purchase I would never have made if it weren't for a faulty product?1.7KViews0likes2CommentsRBR50 and Armor
I keep getting a message that says "Configuration issue detected on ZTE 968." I don't have a ZTE 968. I don't know if one has connected to my network at some point and I don't know who it is or what. I'm concerned it's a security breach. The message usually comes in between midnight and 6 AM. I don't know if it's someone driving by or what. Is there a way to block it if I don't have the MAC address or any other information? Thanks.1.6KViews0likes2CommentsArmor Says Expired But Has Active Dates Listed
Armor continues to fail to protect us. It worked fine until we renewed and now all of a sudden it constantly says it is expired even though somehow it updated the dates of the subscription to reflect the new expiration dates. Somehow there's a disconnect and no troubleshooting steps are helping at all. There was a payment issue at first where Netgear charged us twice and had to remove one charge from the account. Now they removed the one charge and for some reason we are here with this mess. Idk what to do. I need this security for my partner's job and without it he loses money. This isn't ok. It needs to be fixed. I've tried reaching out and nobody is any help at all. I've got all the screenshots etc. But for privacy reasons won't share them just to anyone out in the open. We can see the transaction was finalized and they did take the money. We have a full receipt for it too. Yet here we are now. Things were fine then suddenly they're not. I'm freaking out because everything literally everything is now at risk on our network and it's not ok. It only lets me attach a singular screenshot for whatever reason, but you'd also see the expiration date is not until 2023.Solved3.2KViews1like2CommentsNot able to get Armor on my new router or remove my old one from my account.
Hi, For backgound see this thread: https://community.netgear.com/t5/General-WiFi-Routers-Non/Ny-new-Orbi-RBR750-already-registered-but-... . I marked it as solved since I thought Netgear support would resolve it. That is NOT the case. I currently own a Orbi RBR750 with one satellite registered on my mynetgear account. My old router Orbi RBR50 with a satellite I no longer own but it's still registered on my mynetgear account. The old router is also registered on my armor.netgear.com accounrt and I can not find a way to remove it. I have a month left on my Armor account but Netgear Support claims that I do not have a plan. I can SEE my router and how many days is left in my account. I then thought I could let it go and put Armor on my new router. That isn't possible either. I just get an error message when I try to set up Armor through the Orbi Android app. And Netgear Support doesn't seem able to do anything. I can not removed ,my old router and not add my new. I am now afraid they will renew my Armor account since I paid with a credit card. I can't find the payment method anywhere in my Armor account either. The receipt I got when I renewed last time says: "Your NETGEAR Armor powered by Bitdefender subscription associated with xxxxxxxx@xxxxxxxxx.com has been extended with 12 MONTHS, for 69.99 USD and it will expire on February 05, 2022" Iam totally at a loss here! I can not add my new router to Armor nor remove my old one and in February I may be charged again for a subsription for my old router I no longer have. What can I do next? //CD Message 1 of 21.4KViews0likes0CommentsDDOS Advice
For the past 2 months or so, I've been experiencing major connection consistency issues such as fluctuating ping, reduced internet speeds, and even disconnections with my RAX75. I contacted the customer support from my ISP to see if there was any problems on their end, only for them to tell me it was a local issue. On Sunday, I decided to replace the router with the RAX120 and everything was running buttery smooth up until a couple of hours ago when I reconnected my Nighthawk EAX80 extender. NETGEAR armor sent me 5 threat reports of DDOS attacks blocked from the EAX80 and my Internet speeds were almost simulataneously destroyed. Every time I attempt to read the details of the threat reports the, app crashes. What are my options here?1.7KViews0likes2CommentsISP says Malware comming from my network
Not that I completely trust email I got from ISP stating they detected Malwear Bot coming from my network, but gave no indication of which device on my network might be responsible. I did recently plug a Firestick into HDMI port of wireless IP TV, that I suspect "could" have malwear installed. ISP wants me to load their 'scan tool', but that would only scan the one pc loaded on, and will not scan all the other devices on my network, from multiple wired pcs, cameras (also recently installed chinese IP cameras that 'could' have malwear, SamKnows test router, printers, voip system. Also have numerious wireless devices from phones, laptops, printers, TVs, cameras, range extenders, security system.... Can't seem to find easy software program to run AV/Malwear scan on the LAN network, and seems to me any scan needs to be run at Router level to help detect melious devices on the LAN network. Wondering if NetGear has such a LAN scan tool built in, or option to get a scan tool or subscription in the router. I know when I first purchased, Netgear wore me out to subscribe to extended service and NetArmor. Not sure what NetArmor really is, and if it can SCAN and IDENTIFY suspect devices on the entire LAN network, wired and wireless, or does it just protect instrusion attempts thru firewall? (they wore me out so severly, I was debating to replace $200 router to something else, pretty bad bad marketing IMO, only 90 day tech support was also pretty lame to me also, trying to hook you into support subscription) Needless to say, I let NetArmor expire without every trying to use. If it turns out to be the program I need, how do I get reinstalled/subscribed? If NetArmor is not sutable to SCAN and IDENTIFY (maybe it just protects traffic over firewall... IDK), then is there a suggestion of another program(Netgear or something else) to scan LAN at router level to identfy suspect devices? If so, how to use, load, run at router level? I thought of wireshark, but not sure what suspect malwear traffic would look like. I figure it would have to be some program simular to wireshark, that can run both active on the spot scan, and passivly monitor traffic, on the chance that a removable device from the network, suddenly is connected and knows signature files, outbountd IPs of Virus and Malwear, to report back to LAN admin. In the back of my mind, I could imagine a relative visits with infected phone, connects to my guest WAP, and my ISP sees this malwear traffic... R7000P, v1.3.1.64 I recently purchased a Netgear Armor subscription. Since my purchase, I have been receiving spam attacks from the following: https://paintifiercute.club/ https://volutionwarness.site/ I receive about 30 - 40 a day, which are stopped by Armor. The threat information also shows "Found on DESKTOP-XXXXXXX" which is my desktop. I have used my various malware and security software and have not found any reference to the above mentioned websites. Is there any way to stop these attacks?1.9KViews0likes1Comment
