I wondering if anyone can help me. I so frustrated I about ready to throw my netgear router away. I got two usb hard drives that are Western Digital passport drive . I want to run one with the AC1200 and the other with AC1900 extender. Problem is when I log into the router using a web browser then go to readyshare. I get a message under run windows cannot find the path to readyshare. I can see the hardrive. So I go into advance settings then go down to usb devices and click approve USB devices. Both my passport drives are approved. I been on the phone for over four hours with netgear and they cannot help me. The hard drives are found when hooking them directly to computer. I have a lap top with Windows 7 get the same error. I got a computer with Windows XP same issue. This really surprises me because I can find out threads going back five years with the same issue. I want to put two usb hard drives so I can access them from all my computers . I have four. When I remolded my home I put four Ethernet connectors in every room. I do not care how it down just want to access the drives in the network. I have a usb to Ethernet cable and a female usb to female usb. Only issue passport drives do not have their separate plug in to provide power. I getting tired of not getting issues and paid almost two hundred dollars for netgear support and bought this routers to buy the usb drives on. I already spent too much of my time on this issue. I want to get this fixed so all my computer can access the two passport usb hard robes . Do you have to do the same thing to each computer. I would greatly appreciate if anyone could help me. I'm configured with PCs connected via ethernet to the MR6400 mobile hotspot and portable devices (Windows laptop, android tablet, Chromebook) connected to the EX2800 WiFi extender. Wired devices can share with each other and wireless devices can share with each other, but wireless devices cannot connect to wired PCs. Any ideas on how to fix this? NAT issue? Firewall? Network sharing is set up as Private - username/pwd required and all are in the same Workgroup.754Views0likes0CommentsNetgear extender wifi speed much slower
I recently purchased a Netgear EX6120 to have a wired ethernet to my PC with higher speeds. The wifi in my room is around 200-300Mbps, however, the wifi extender is only at 20-30 Mbps without ethernet, with ethernet it is 30-40. The product description says it goes up to 1200Mbps. I use a virgin media hub4. Extender is connected to home network wirelessly. Is there anything that can be done to fix this or will I have to return it?583Views0likes1CommentWhy does the login screen of my EAX20 Range Extender contain a picture of a kid feeding a dog?
This is a serious question. I have been logging into my EAX20 router quite a bit recently, just to see which devices connect to the range extender compared with the RAX50 Router. Aside from maybe the notion of "home" stirred-up by a child feeding a pet, I can't really understand why Neatgear has chosen the admin login screen as a kid, on a bed, feeding a dog. Is it that nothing says "next generation wireless" like this endearing scene?Force a 5GHz connection from Repeater to Spectrum router
Our new Spectrum WiFi Router decides whether to connect to a device on the 2.5GHz or 5GHz band based on signal strength and, for the last couple days, it has been choosing the 2.4GHz band for my Repeater, sticking me with a slower speed even though the 5GHz signal is more than adequate. Fastlane is not an option because I would like to configure the Repeater so that it uses the 5GHz band to connect to the Router, but still has 5GHz and 2.4GHz available for devices to connect to the Repeater (we have a TiVo in the next room with Wireless G that I would also like to connect). Is this possible? Or should I just give up on 5GHz WiFi for the upstairs? Thanks in advance, Jeff1.6KViews0likes1CommentR9000 and ????? M60?
I shut off my Google WIFI as they are out of date TV boxes that are blah... I have an R9000 in place. I bought the MESH WiFi 6 System to go with it. Doesnt seem right. Whats my best option for whole house coveragge and smooth connection? Should I take the MESH back? It seems to be running against each other even in AP mode on both. I have to use the Google Router still so R9000 is in AP mode too. 1500 SQ ft split level house. Gaming and streaming768Views0likes1CommentEX7000 won't connect to non-admin accounts in Windows 7
My cousin added an EX7000 to his U-verse 2Wire router. It works great for his account (admin), but his wife's account on the same computer (non-admin) will not connect to the EX7000. It connects just fine to the 2Wire router. I have checked UAC and DNS settings and there is nothing obvious why the extender is refusing connection on that user account. Both connections are WiFi. Any ideas on this strange behavior?1KViews0likes2CommentsAc1900 ex700 WiFi signal keeps dropping
My WiFi signal keeps dropping on my WiFi extender. I have Ethernet plugged into my ps4 and it will say lan cable not connected and I look at the router and the signal is off. The normal WiFi is fine but signal is too weak for my ps4 but it is always green light on the 2.4 and 5 ghz signals. I tried resetting multiple times and power cycling. I play for about 5-10 min before signal drops2.2KViews0likes2Comments
