6 Topics802.11k / 902.11r extender which roams
Hi, we have been trying the Netgear AC1900 EX7000 model extenders, we find the range excellent on them. The problem we have is we need to put extenders onto an indoor vehicle, however the extenders need to roam. we are finding this diffecult to find. The extender needs to collect signal in 2.4 then connect to the APs in 5, hence why we like the fast lane on these. We tried the AC1900 EX7000 Nighthawk Wifi Extender Netgear model, and found the fast lane excellent, and also the range, however they do not roam, and stick to one AP, they will only go onto a different AP once the signal is 0. We are looking for 802.11r / 802.11k Is there a flash available for these extenders we could apply? Or do Netgear have a different extender we could test? I did come across this model, would this work for us? I have a Nighthawk X6 - the wifi coverage is weak upstairs. I purchased a powerline 1200 and access point ac1200. My plan is to connect the nighthawk x6 to the ac1200 upstairs using the powerline 1200. Is this a workable solution? What configuration of the router and access point would you recommend? Thanks in advance!3.5KViews0likes1CommentSecuring printer using wifi extender
Hi Our business currently operates in a co-working space, using the community WIFI network provided by the premises. For some additional security, we added a wifi extender with our own password. We connected our wireless printer to this extender (using SSID and PW), but found that the rest of the people on the floor were printing to our printer (by setting up printer via IP address, which was the same as the premises). How can I secure the printer so you can only get in via the Wifi extender PW? I've now added an ethernet cable between the Extender and the Printer and turned off the Wifi of the printer. Problem is my computer can't see the printer. Any advice?3.8KViews0likes1CommentWiFi Extenders
I have a small business (6 computers) in which I setup the AC1450 Wi-Fi router. It works great and I have no issues EXCEPT there are a couple of computers that are behind a block wall and the signal tends to be weaker. I was looking at the AC750 Extenders and was wondering if they woulld be an appropriate solution. I read some of the reviews and there was mention of the bandwith being reduced if you are using these boosters. and that signals get dropped if you have a device that moves around (i.e. laptop, ipad) Are these real concerns? Is there a better solution?Solved4KViews0likes2CommentsNetgear Wireless N150 Access Point WN604 Losing / Forgetting Settings after Reboot
I have a NETGEAR Wireless N150 Access Point WN604 which is losing / Forgetting Settings after Reboot or power cycle. It loses among other things the following settings: • Access Point Name • NTP Host Name • IP Settings • Wireless SSID • Wireless Channel • Security Settings I have had this device for some time and it has always had this problem – only now have I had the time to look into it in detail and document the problem. Apart from the device works but fails after every reboot or power cycle. I suspect this is a hardware issue – can you confirm ? Please tell me how I can resolve this.
