3 TopicsConnecting router to external USB drive
I'm trying to add my external USB HD to the router and am running into a few problems: 1) I don't know if I can use it to backup via Time Machine or only for additional storage? I followed the Time Machine guide to partition the USB drive. I'd like to be able to store backups on it. Is this possible? 2) I attached the USB drive to my router and reach the point to connect to server and keep getting an error that my MacBook cannot connect. I opened Genie and everything is good, so I'm unsure as to what the problem is. MacBook Pro Late 2011 macOS High Sierra 10.13 Just updated Genie to 2.4.26 Any help appreciated. firmware version 2..01.18... purchased a year ago. Now I am trying to connect USB storage (Seagate Backup 4TB USB 3.0), and it appears as though the supplied cable only goes in so far. The USB light goes on. I have waited, rebooted, re-waited, but the ReadyShare does not recognize a USB device is connected. I connected the Seagate to my laptop (Windows7), and the cable fully inserted into the slot, device drivers automatically loaded, and I was able to access the drive. My question is: a) do I need an adapter or USB hub to plug into the C6300 USB port ?; and b) are there any steps I can perform to resolve this (I have checked out numerout youtube videos and netgear community posts, but nothing hits on this particular topic). Thanks in advance. -SteveSolved3.7KViews0likes4CommentsBRCM-LVG appearing since Gateway Updated to Netgear Genie
We have an N450 (on the side it also says CG300Dv2) Our gateway software must have auto updated to Netgear Genie. All the sudden we see BRCM-LVG appearin gin our network. In Netgear Genie ReadyShare it shows it as a possible USB device. Is that what it is? Should I disable it from Network Connection, HTTP and FTP? Thanks for some answers.Solved25KViews0likes2Comments
