I understand that there is an issue with detecting the USB adapter when on Windows 10 during the installation which has been solved. I just finished building my PC and currently using Windows 10 Pro. I’ve tried tutorials to fix it but I can’t follow all the steps that are shown as they’re using the regular windows 10. Please help.3.5KViews0likes10CommentsWill R7000 connection to USB printer work for both wireless and wired computers?
I currently have a Windows 10 computer connected by Ethernet cable to my R7000 router. The computer currently connects to my printer's one USB port. When I change use of that USB port to connect to the router, will the cabled computer be able to access the printer through the Ethernet-to-router-to-printer route? My purpose is to print with my WiFi laptops.Solved4.1KViews0likes5CommentsNo more recessed USB ports
I've had two USB thumb drives overheat and crash (consistantly). Here are the model numbers: 1.) A super-mini thumb drive by Lexmark (32GB, USB3.0 JumpDrive S45 - LJDS45-32GABEU (I liked the low profile, but it clearly couldn't dissipate heat as the USB port on the R9000 is recessed... 2.) A longer thumb drive by Sandisk that has a metal housing (32GB USB3.0 Ultra Flair SDCZ73-032G) which I thought could dissipate heat, but it just can't... The only solution to this is a USB extension cable. NetGear's KnowledgeBase regarding "tested USB drives" is terribly short, and woefully incomplete: https://kb.netgear.com/18985/Will-my-USB-drive-work-with-ReadySHARE (it refers to the "SanDisk 64GB" as being compatible, but it DOES NOT give the model number like it does for every other device listed) The R9000's two USB3.0 ports are positioned under the router's overhanging plastic chasis. This does not allow for heat to disapate from the pen drives, which become too hot to touch. I recomend that future models have the USB ports flush with the router's outermost walls.5.4KViews1like0CommentsConnecting router to external USB drive
I'm trying to add my external USB HD to the router and am running into a few problems: 1) I don't know if I can use it to backup via Time Machine or only for additional storage? I followed the Time Machine guide to partition the USB drive. I'd like to be able to store backups on it. Is this possible? 2) I attached the USB drive to my router and reach the point to connect to server and keep getting an error that my MacBook cannot connect. I opened Genie and everything is good, so I'm unsure as to what the problem is. MacBook Pro Late 2011 macOS High Sierra 10.13 Just updated Genie to 2.4.26 Any help appreciated. I have installed software version 1.0.0.36 as recommended on this forum, I have set the USB Speed to 3.0 in the Advanced tab, I have disabled the NetgearUSBSwitch process from Start-up, and probably a few other things too which escape me at this hour, but I still only get a slow 54Mb/s connection speed. After the installation of the software v1.0.0.36 the connection speed did go up to 144Mb/s and all was good, but the next start up of my PC and all back as it was. Any suggestion would be gratefully received as I'm just about to purchase another manufacturers Wi-Fi Adapter. Thanks in advance.Solved11KViews0likes5Commentsc6300 usb port - cables do not insert fully
firmware version 2..01.18... purchased a year ago. Now I am trying to connect USB storage (Seagate Backup 4TB USB 3.0), and it appears as though the supplied cable only goes in so far. The USB light goes on. I have waited, rebooted, re-waited, but the ReadyShare does not recognize a USB device is connected. I connected the Seagate to my laptop (Windows7), and the cable fully inserted into the slot, device drivers automatically loaded, and I was able to access the drive. My question is: a) do I need an adapter or USB hub to plug into the C6300 USB port ?; and b) are there any steps I can perform to resolve this (I have checked out numerout youtube videos and netgear community posts, but nothing hits on this particular topic). Thanks in advance. -SteveSolved3.7KViews0likes4CommentsWNA1100 arthurx.sys update
Hello, My WNA 1100 N150 adaptor has an issue where it will occasionally cut out and cause my PC to blue-screen. It points to one of the drivers, arthurx.sys, as the cause. Looking around, the suggestion is to upgrade the driver, but there's a problem, the NETGEAR driver installer requires me to unplug my adaptor which then causes the blue screen. Launching the installer with it already unplugged, the old driver will be re-installed once I plug it back in, so the installer does nothing. Can I get the latest arthurx.sys driver file as a seperate download so I can upgrade it manually? Current version : 2.0.0.5 Version of installer : 2.2.0.1 Thanks in advance.4.3KViews0likes5CommentsPlex not showing movie images R9000 x10 or scanning media files for more than one library
I saw that someone previously had a similar, if not the same issue. Their write-up is as follows: " Just setting up Plex on my R9000, connected USB 3 thumbdrive (32GB), and usin g my NAS as storage for my movies. But no image/poster is beeing downloaded, all movies are just grey boxes. Info and so on working fine, but only images not working. Is there a solution for this, working fine when I used my NAS as mediaplayer." In my issue, I have a server set up on my laptop that interfaces with my NAS just fine. However, my laptop is not ideal for streaming movies for several reasons (one being that my PS4 Pro and the router both use 5G and my laptop does not. But I digress) Anyway, I got the new firmware update that allows you to set up a Plex server on the router that uses an NAS. I purchased a 128G Samsung USB3.0 thumb drive, plugged it into the router and opened the Plex server. I added multiple directories into multiple libraries, but the server will only detect movies in one library. Also, in that library, media is matched and the info is working, but the artwork is not present (nor can I add artwork with the upload custom artwork function.) This issue is marked solved on a previous thread, with the solution being listed as: "Solution is formatting to "OS X Extended (Journaled)", not working with FAT32 or EXFAT." I have no idea what that means. Reformat the NAS? (I definitely won't be deleting 12tb of media for a reformat.) Or is it talking about reformatting the USB? If so, how would I go about that? I am very confused and frustrated with this whole process.Solved6.2KViews0likes6CommentsReadyShare vault doesn't recognise USB drive
I've bought a new R7000 and hooked up a Samsung M3 (2TB) USB drive. The router recognises the drive perfectly and works fine for accessing files through e.g. Windows Explorer. But, Ready Share Vault does not recognise my backup drive and says "No ReadySHARE device detected". I've also tried another Samsung drive (1TB), but it also wasn't recognised. After reading all related posts, I'm unable to get the drive recognised. Please help.Solved9.2KViews0likes6Comments
