Windows 10
7 TopicsAfter recent Windows 10 update, I can't log in to Genie app
I recently got a new build of Windows 10 and Genie app no longer worked. Prompt said it was incompatable. I uninstalled the app with a utility that removed all evidence of the prior version (Revo Uninstall) and downloaded v2.4.44. Everything came up fine but I tried to get to my guest settings on my R6210, my log in failed (wrong password) using admin and "password". I removed the app again, did a factory reset router (disabled modem, held router reset button for more than 10 seconds, and updated Router firmware) which I felt would give me the ultimate start from scratch point. Again, when I got to my guest settings the login failed again (wrong password). Is there a way to reset the passwrd in the genie app? I tried using all of my other Netgear 'MyNETGEAR' account credentials and my router access access and Password information and I just simply get into the router settings without using the 198.162.1.1 address through my browser. I really appreciated the ease of using the Genie app to make changes as needed. I'm very good at electronics, but not so good at the software end of things and this is driving me nuts. I am so frustrated. I have a laptop running windows 10 and I can see the netgear router and I am putting in the correct password but my laptop continues to say it cannot connect to the network. Can anyone tell me what to do to fix this problem and explain it in simple step by step processes? I am a novice.Solved3.3KViews0likes4CommentsCannot create new folder on R7800 ReadyShare using Win 10 Explorer
For some reason I am unable to create a new folder with a unique name, or rename an existing file or folder on any ReadyShare network share using windows exporer. I can copy existing files and folders from any of my PCs to the share, but if I try to create a new folder or rename an existing file or folder in explorer, i get an error message. If I try to create a new folder with a unique name, say "Temp," I get the following error message: If I hit cancel then a new folder appears on the share as "New Folder." If I try to rename the "New Folder" to some other name, I get the same error message. I I try to rename an existing folder on the share, say change "\\ReadyShare\USB_Storage\Backups" to "Old Backups," I get a similar error message: Like I said, I have no problems copying existing files from my PCs to a share using windows explorer or creating new files using other apps, e.g. Word, Excel, etc. I can also delete existing files from the share using explorer. I have tried this with several different USB storage devices and I get the same behavior. For some reason it seems like the name changing process in explorer cannot find the file/folder that is being renamed. I have been working around this issue by creating new folders on my PC and then dragging them to the share but this seems like a strange way to have to do it! I am using an R7800 Nighthawk Router with the latest firmware V1.0.2.12. Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!Solved13KViews2likes35CommentsHelp! WN3000RP range extender no longer connects since Windows 10
Hi All, I have found other posts on this community and the Microsoft community with users struggling to understand why their extenders no longer work. I took advantage of the free Win 10 upgrade but now am very frustrated that I can no longer connect to the my range extender. I have already: ensured the latest firmware is installed, shut off anti-virus protection and completed reboots of both my Netgear wireless router and extender. I'm out of options. Others must fill this pain. It makes no sense to me that this device (Lenovo Laptop) can connect to the wireless router but not the extender with the exact same info. I've completed all the obvious trouble shooting and different combinations of logging on. I am eager to hear another idea of how to solve this without giving up and buying a new extender. Hi, I have a new DELL Inspiron (Windows 10) with a "Intel Dual Band Wireless AC 3165" which I am unable to connect to WNDR3400V3-N600 router. Other existing devices like Android, iOS and Printer are connected through the router and work fine. I get the message "Checking Network Requirements" and a while later get "Can't Connect to this network". The wired connection is working all right. I disabled access control and even tried security 'None' briefly. But, no success. The wireless connection also connected to another non-NetGear router earlier, suggesting that the problem is specific to NetGear environment. Adapter Driver - Intel latest version (18.20.0.9) Router S/w - Latest Version (V.1.0.1.2_1.0.51) I even fell back to earlier versions of the Intel adapter such as 18.12.0.3 & 17.15.0.5 but with no success. Any help is appreciated. TIA.Solved5.3KViews0likes5Comments
