6 TopicsOrbi and UVerse Wireless Receivers
I've installed the Orbi AC3000 Tri-Band WiFi System with an AT&T Uverse system. I replaced the AT&T Wireless Access Point with the Orbi main Router and configured it for AP mode. After successfully syncing the 2 wireless AT&T receivers, they appeared to work. However, the problem that I'm looking for help with is that the wireless receivers will work fine for only about 5-10 minutes before freezing for a few seconds, then a notification pops up saying U-Verse signal is lost. This will last for several seconds before the screeen reverts to the OK screen for 2 seconds, then returns to the current channel and plays normally for another 5-10 minutes. Then the cycle repeats. I can bypass weird reset cycle by switching channels and quickly switching back when the screen does its inital freeze. Please help me with what settings do I need to change in either the U-Verse gateway or the Orbi AP to ensure my wireless receivers have continuous operation without these interrupts. Thanks in advance!SolvedATT Uverse
I am an ATT Uverse user and interested in the Orbi product. Has anyone set up the Orbi on the ATT Uverse system? Uverse system has the modem/router in one device. I'm not a network guy so do not understand technical ling (smile). Can someone explain if you can make the Orbi system work with ATT Uverse? If so, how? Do I have to set it up just as an access point or are there other ways to configure it? Would I keep my TVs (DVR and tv access points) plugged into the ATT modem/router or plug those into the Orbi as well? I have called ATT many times and they are not familiar with Orbi so could not offer any advice.AT&T Uverse Pace 5268AC in DMZ+ With Orbi ... help please
So I've been struggling with this for about two weeks now. I want to be able to use Orbi as my router with my ATT suplied Pace box because the Pace doesn't support UPnp or NAT lookup (or so people say) . I run a plex media server out of my house and need to be able to access it which didn't work just trying to use the supplied gateway and putting my orbi in AP mode. Also I like to use Nvidia shield streaming to connect to my gaming PC from outside of my house and I also can't do that with orbi in AP mode and using the supplied Pace gateway in none DMZ+ mode. So here's where I'm at: For the most part serfing the internet seems to work Sometimes it seems like web pages can't resolve connections but If i hit the refresh button a couple of times it will load the web page Plex seems to work outside of my house which is good Nvidia streaming DOESN'T work outside of my house even though I've forwarded the correct ports My roku specifically (I have two of them that have the same issue) seems to have a horrible time connecting to any channel both wired or streaming. I think it's having a hard time connecting to the roku servers in order to load a specific channel. Here's how I have things set up: Turned off the wifi on the Pace gateway Turned on DMZ+ mode for my orbi that's hooked to the first ethernet port on my Pace Gateway Public IP address is being passed to my Orbi router Orbi router is on the same subnet mask but a different IP range (10.0.0.x) and the Pace is on (192.168.1.x) Orbi router is set to DHCP mode updated the orbi firmware to the latest I'm really struggling here. There are a lot of really advanced settings on the Orbi that I think might be causing some issues but I don't know what they do even after googling and I'm not sure where I'm gong wrong. Can someone please save my life here. The thing that's most concering to me is that it seems to have issues making some connections at all (like my roku) this isn't just Orbi btw. I have done this exact same setup with an airport extreme and I had the exact same issue.LB1120 SLOW SPEED WITH ATT SIM
This is my 3rd LB1120 modem. I first install was 2 at work off a Sonicwall, for fail over connection. They had slow download speed at first of 5mbps down. Yet my cell phone was getting 28mbps down in the same spot. Both on ATT, but different bills. ATT try saying modem couldn't reach the 4G lte tower. And I was in a 3G area and that was the best they could do. So they did get fixed by a installer of wireless modems. Something on the ATT side. Well my 3rd LB1120 is for me. And max download is .5-3mbps. And now my phone is getting about the same speeds. Its like add the Netgear LB1120 trigger something in my ATT account that slowed my data plan down. I was getting 16 to 30mbps at home before the new sim card was turn on. Anyone ever have this happen? I'm on the 2nd week of phone tag with ATT support. 5 new sim cards between my phone and modem.Adding a WN3500RP to AT&T U-Verse...ugh! (ATT ATandT AT and T)
So...after a LOT of time trying to get my shiny new extender (the WN3500RP) to connect to my AT&T U-Verse network...turns out the problem was that the WPS feature (Wireless Protection Setup) was NOT EVEN TURNED ON! I don't know if this is a system default, or the way the tech set it up, but it is touted as a great "feature" of the router, so I have no idea why this would not have been enabled when the tech-guy set it up. To change the setup of your router: -type "192.168.1.254" into your web browser to manage the router. -go to "Home Network" tab -go to "Wireless" sub-tab -in the Wireless configuration, turn ON the WPS option (mine was off!) -SAVE the changes! (full disclosure: I have no idea what the PIN feature accomplishes, but I didn't mess with that.) -I restarted the router for good measure...then sure enough...I was able to connect the WN3500RP (as well as an almost-discarded printer!) just as easily as the normal WPS feature is supposed to be! (pressing the WPS button on the device, then on the router, and in a few minutes, they're connected.) Anywho, just wanted to share my experience/solution/nightmare so anyone who searches for a similar problem might be helped...and saved from jogging around the house hitting the same buttons over, and over, and over, and over...2.4KViews0likes3Comments
