So my Orbi keeps dropping internet connection with my Amazon TV via Ethernet but WiFi remains working. I have to reboot Amazon TV to have it reconnect to the Orbi. Both Orbi and Amazon TV have most recent firmware update. My internet is fiber and up to 1gbps speed. So I have the Ethernet cable directly from wall into Orbi and another cable from Orbi into Amazon TV. Any ideas why it keeps dropping internet to my Amazon TV?R6400 wired connection drops out briefly every half hour or so (wireless never does)
Hello all. This is regarding my R6400 WiFi Router with the most recent firmware (V1.0.1.34_1.0.24). For a long time now my ethernet cable connection from Router to desktop PC (windows 10 64) has disconnected briefely every half hour or so (sometimes more sometimes less it's hard to gauge). I would say it goes out for about 10 seconds then returns. I see a little red X over the internet symbol in the taskbar when this happens so it's definitely going down for whatever reason. It's not the worst problem one can have, but sometimes I play online poker and it can make a huge difference there when in a big pot happening. I really can't risk it anymore and need to solve this. I tried switching which port the cable is plugged into but got the same problem. Any ideas? I guess I could buy another wireless adaptor if I can't solve this since our wireless connections never drop, but I'd rather not have to shell out money when the ethernet connection SHOULD work. Thanks everyone!SolvedDevices on Satellite appear to loose connection to router for a few seconds at a time
Hello all, I currently have a HTPC that utilizes a HDHomeRun Prime for cable TV and several xboxes for media extenders. Ever since I've installed the Orbi system, I've noticed I've been getting a lot of "weak signal" messages on my HTPC and extenders. From what I can tell its dropping frames from the HDHomeRun to the HTPC. The HDHomeRun is wired to the main router and the HTPC is wired to the satellite. From reading many of the issues people are having, am I safe to say that the Netgear Orbi system isn't refined enough at this point to support sustained data transfer from the router to satellites? I never had any issues whatsoever until I switched to this setup. I'm currently running 2.0.0.74 firmware and my signal on the satellite shows blue to the router (see attached picture) I'd like to know if there is anything I can do to fix this issue before it's too late to return the Orbi. Thanks in advance!!Comcast customers: will Firmware V3.01.14 fix my N450 (CG3000Dv2) connectivity issues?
For the past half a year, my N450 (CG3000Dv2) cabel modem router has been completely unreliable. It regularly drops connection. Sometimes restarting helps, sometimes it doesn't. I've rebooted the box a couple times, and that helps for maybe a day, sometimes less. This connectivity issue seems to be a common complaint for N450, and also seems to be tied to the V3.01.06 firmware (makes sense to me, based on when my problems started). I see that V3.01.14 has been pushed by Comcast to its customers. Any Comcast N450 customers on here who had connectivity issues with V3.01.06? And if so, did those problems go away with V3.01.14? I have Spectrum, which is still using V3.01.06. It's really frustrating to be experiencing this problem, especially since I had suffered through the same issue over a year ago. That time, the probably spontaneously resolved, presumably when the Firmware was updated. I think it happened around the same time as the Time Warner Cable merger with Charter, and this time the problem seems to correspond with the mergers with Spectrum.3.9KViews0likes8CommentsR8000 Drops some wifi connections
For the past few months, my R8000 has been dropping wifi connections. I am running the latest firmware (V1.0.3.36_1.1.25) The devices that drop include laptops, iPhones, and a Samsung media player. What is unique about this is that these devices cannot reconnect until the router is reset. Range or signal obstructions do not appear to be an issue given the size of my house and centralized placement of my router. I performed a factory reset two weeks ago and am still experiencing these issues. Do I really need to roll back to a previous firmware? Doesn't that expose my router to more threats? Is there a way for me to get detailed troubleshooting information? Very upset given the price of this router.Solved5.3KViews0likes8CommentsR7900 5G-2 Band Drops Speed from 200mbps to 2mbps
Hi. Over the past week I've noticed the 5G-2 band on my R7900 will drastically drop speed for no noticeable reason. Last week I change the broadcast channel from 149 to 161, which I thought was the source of the issue. Router did a soft reset after applying new channel setting and speeds went back to normal. Fast forward a week and the same drop in speed happened again. This time I just did a soft reset and left the channel the same. Speed went right back to normal after reset. 2.4G and 5G-1 bands are never impacted when the 5G-2 band is having these issues. I've tested the speeds with multiple devices ~1 foot away from the router. I'm using latest firmware (V1.0.1.4_10.0.12). Any suggestions to fix this issue? Thanks in advance.Solved5.9KViews0likes11CommentsNighthawk R7000 continuously dropping internet connection after firmware update
I updated the firmware yesterday to V1.0.7.2_1.1.93. Since then, the internet connection drops every 10mins to an hour. It reconnects within a minute. The router itself is still up and running, serving both wired and wifi connections. Has anyone seen this? Are there any settings I should tweak? Are there know firmware issues? Thanks.Solved5.6KViews0likes7CommentsIntermittent wireless Internet drops
Model: C3000 Firmware: V2.02.08 OS: OSX 10.11.6 I'm having an increasingly technically issue where my wireless connection drops and all my connected devices are not able to connect to the Internet. First, all the modem/wireless lights remain green and I stay connected to the network however when I disconnect from wifi and attempt to reconnect I'm prompted to enter my wifi password and it comes back incorrect. The only way to resolve the issue is to manually restart the router and everything is fine. I've changed the wireless settings to manually connect to the best wireless channel and I've disabled Access Control to ensure there's no devices being blocked. It's getting frustrating as this issue is happening my frequently. It used to be every 2-3 days now its several times a day. Please help! Edit: I've pulled the event logs and I'm seeing DoS attack? How can I stop this?
