Any idea what might cause this? Corrupt config? I noticed the app wasn't started and attempting to start it resulted in failing to initialize 22002010000 error code. I upgrade to latest version and still same result. Reboot of the NAS resulted in the same. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks, RobSolvedThe genie+ Marketplace is no longer available on RND2000-200NAS
So here we go again. Running product, go to update it, still stuck on firmware 5.3.11. Client needs Wordpress on the device, just pop on apps, and make it happen. Oh, wait, this is an old one, need to do the Genie crap. Oh, yeah, The genie+ Marketplace is no longer available Oh, yeah, Great.... So Lets see, Netgear abandoned the service, long after the firmware updates were abandoned. Apparently Netgear is just taking the Microsloth approach of screw it, let them pay more money to upgrade to a new product....when the lifetime of the product is obviously not over...because it is still running. Total failure, if you abandon a product, then months or years later abandon the external functionallity that you actually paid for, at least re-write a final firmware to remove the options, or allow for a library of "non-supported avaliable apps". This is absoulty the last straw for me. I am going to find a vendor to make me a hell of a deal for me so I can deploy QNAP to every small business I have....just off the top of my head, I have 14 clients on some leve of a ready nas. I am done. Then I will buy one extra QNAP, backup the clients data, build their new QNAP with the drives that have minimal hours on them and deploy the QNAP, restore data. Final straw with this nonesense.... Like if I have an XP box that I need to run for some reason, and the vendor removed a drive that was/has been avaliable for years, just becasue they abandoned the product.... Good luck with it.... Next it will be replacing all my WIFI routers with another vendor. You are dead to me now....thanks Netgear.7.2KViews3likes1CommentRN102 3 out of 4 hard drives failed in 2 years
Hi All, New to the communities, but I've had the RN102 (purchased from NETGEAR on Amazon with 2 3TB Seagate (ST3000DM001) drives) since about mid 2013. Long story short, I hadn't set up the notification alerts correctly on the NAS, and, about mid 2014 both drives had failed. After much back and forth with NETGEAR Tech Support, they sent me two new drives (also ST3000DM001), and I had to send the failed drives to Seagate Recovery Services (they recovered the data for quite a pretty penny!). Flash forward to mid 2015, and one of the replacement drives has failed. I'm pretty disgusted. My questions - Are these Seagate drives just garbage? Is this typical behavior for them? Should I get something like a WD Red drive instead? Or, is there something wrong with my NAS that it keeps assassinating hard drives? I bought this because I thought it would be a relatively stable place to store files, but it's been the least stable hdd based storage device that I've ever owned! I would appreciate any thoughts or reccommendations! DonSolvedDisk Test Failure
I got a Disk Test Failure mail from my NAS (RN104, firmware 6.4.2): Disk test failed on disk in channel 2, model WDC_WD20EARX-00PASB0, serial WD-WMAZAYYYYXXX I'd like to know how severe my problem is and if I'll need to replace my HD (I just bought a new HDD and that is not the faulty one...) I got the full log, but I'm not sure where to look at. I've had my Pro Business for years now. I've moved from 6x500G to 6x1T to 6x2T over the years, and have always used Seagate Constellation ES.2 drives. I have a drive failure about once every 18 months or so. Each time it happens I recall not seeing enough info from the NAS to tell where the NAS is in the rebuild process, so I'm used to waiting days for the alarms to clear, but I had a recent failure and am getting nervous. Drive had been getting progressively worse with increasing SMART errors. I always keep a spare handy. I am running XRAID-2. Drive finally failed, so I replaced it. The log shows the following messages after the failure and then after the replacement with the new drive: I have waited over 10 days to see the alarms clear and the drive to go "normal" but no joy. Drive is still showing "dead" in the volume and health displays, and front panel shows "Vol C degraded". I don't want to reboot if it's busy, causing it to have to start over. How long should this take, and how can I see updates on the rebuild status? Thanks, H.Solved6.4KViews0likes9CommentsWN3000RP fails to establish wired connection
Hello! I have a WN3000RPv1h2 with V1.0.2.64_1.1.86. It's working fine as a WiFi extender and used to work also as a wired access point. Now, however, the wired connection cannot be established anymore. I've tried multiple devices Linux & Windows and multiple cables and rebooted the extender multiple times with no luck. All the devices work well with WiFi provided by the same extender and with wired connection provided by the ADSL box the extender is connected to. I'm suspecting a hardware problem as there seems to be no options for configuring the wired connection. Monitoring the traffic with Linux Wireshark reveals that the Linux dhcp client requests for configuration, but WN3000RP is not responding. Is there anything I could do to see what is happening or, even better, to get my wired connection working? It used to work... One strange thing... The Attached Devices listing shows many of the wireless connections in the list of wired devices. Actually there should be no wired devices connected because the wired connection is not working... So I login to my ReadyNAS and it notifies me that 6.2.5 is avaliable. After all the screwups that 6.2.2 created, I thought I'd at least read the release notes before I blind update a running device. Go to Netgear, look at news, link to firmware is for Version 6.0, In Nov of 14. FAIL. Go to forums, nothing.....FAIL Click on the actual link on the popup for the firmware update, it links to http://readynasIP/admin..... FAIL. Why is it that we continue to operate like this is all in beta, it is run like a startup, and no real information is actually published when the firmware becomes avaliable. Why is it I am the ONLY one that askes these questions....does no one else care that their data sits on a device that is managed in this manner???5.1KViews0likes11CommentsRN104 inaccessible and displaying btrfs_biomerge_bio_hook+a4 message
