I have read all the posts about surpressing the self issued certificate, but does anyone know if a Trusted SSL Certificate (purchased from Godaddy.com for example) can be installed on a ReadyNAS NV+? I want to allow client login for file sharing via HTTPS and the warning looks hoaky from the outside. Anybody? The IGMP Snooping Static Router Port setting on GS108PEv3
The IGMP Snooping Static Router Port setting on GS105PE was originally not available on that model, but it was later added after a request to add it and was provided by updating the firmware. Our engineers will now review if it will be possible to add it on the GS108PEv3 and we need to log it as a request however we will not be able provide you an estimated time of release. We will have to wait and see it on the future firmware update of the product.16KViews2likes3CommentsPower Off Button!!!
I am astonished that I can't choose to power off this unit with the push of a button. It has got to be THE MOST ANNOYING aspect of this otherwise very well designed NAS box. I thought the ReadyNAS Duo unit was supposed to be for the "consumer" home-user. Really, what consumer-level home user doesn't want an off button? I really hate having to boot up my computer just to turn the thing off. My wife absolutely HATES the fact that she can't turn it off. She ends up unplugging the thing half the time, and then I am forced to wait though an hour of error checking every time I boot up the box. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE consider adding this option, or my wife may just end up throwing it out the window!Wake up ReadyNas by network ?
Hi, It will bee cool to have the possibility to wake up the ReadyNas by the network (with magical packet like 'ether-wake MAC ADDR' under linux). So, it is maybe not possible, because when the readyNas is shutdown, the LAN interface is down ... It is because there is no low power on motherboard after a shutdown ? (no wake up lan ?) Thank's to look at that ... Ludo.FTPS or SFTP as option in Frontview backup
As you all know FTP is still one of the most common file transfer protocols used to backup or restore data from remote servers. This is however a huge security risk, FTP has no encryption, not on account details and not on the data that's being transfered. In a time where high encryption and strong passwords are expected this is still a huge security issue. I would like the Jedi's to look into the possibility of adding security to the FTP protocol and this via FTPS (tls or ssl added to the FTP protocol) This shouldn't be too difficult, it is already available for transfers to and from local shares. Something more advanced would be SFTP. I can imagine that this is harder to implement because this isn't a real FTP protcol anymore. SSH protocol connection. (May need users to add SSH add-on, more complex, ...) I would be very happy to see one of these two implemented in future releases so I don't need to be worried that all my data is available to anyone who wants to look into it, or even causing damage. Hope you guys support this request! It is essential to safe data transfer over FTP.Duo V2 : Remote UPS monitoring:sorted v.5.3.7
edit - **sorted in raidiator 5.3.7** I've had a quick search on the forums and drew a blank...but in the true tradition of the older models; Please can we have the ability for the Duo V2 to monitor the UPS status from another Readynas? I was somewhat taken surprised this feature had been removed from these newer models, and they have been out a fair few months now.APC UPS Client Add-on or Widget
** Moved from Developement Forum ** Hey guys, would it be possible to load a linux base client that would work with the APC Net Manager? I have a TCP/IP based connection to my APC UPS and would like it to work with my NV+. But so far, the only IP that can be used with the Frontview is to monitor another NAS. If this doesn't already exist, I think it would be a great add-on or widget for the community. Does any body else think this a good idea?File Manager inside Readynas
It would be nice to be able to do file manipulations directly inside ReadyNAS GUI. We have millions of files on our ReadyNAS that come from security cameras and it takes hours to delete them over LAN access with high LAN load during this period. I think it would be much faster to select the files to be deleted inside the ReadyNAS GUI and then let it do the job. Any chance for implementing this feature ? Thanks.
