My Router R6900 with Firmware V1.0.1.36 continues to drop Internet on 2.4GHz for Windows 10 PC's, Macs, iPads. I have been using the R6900 for almost 2 years, and in the last few weeks began to have issues. I updated to Firmware V1.0.1.34 several weeks ago, and I don't recall if the Internet dropping issue started before or after that firmware update. Last week I updated Firmware to V1.0.1.36 and while I am dropping less often I still drop Internet a couple times a day on 2.4GHz (while wired and 5.0GHz remain connected). Via another device (connected via 5.0GHz), I can modify the Channel Selection on 2.4GHz (thru Netgear Genie) and restore the Internet connection for 2.4GHz. Each time the Internet connection drops (2-3x per day) I have been repeating that process.Solved5.8KViews0likes7CommentsR7800 losing internet after modem reconnection

I updated the firmware yesterday to V1.0.7.2_1.1.93. Since then, the internet connection drops every 10mins to an hour. It reconnects within a minute. The router itself is still up and running, serving both wired and wifi connections. Has anyone seen this? Are there any settings I should tweak? Are there know firmware issues? Thanks.Solved5.6KViews0likes7CommentsNighthawk R7000 with CM500 Modem on ComCast - internet light always off
Hello, Problem: Router R7000 with firmware 1.0.4.30 is connected to Netgear modem CM500 which is connected to ComCast Cable internet. Everything worked fine until yesterday - nothing changed in setup, the internet stops working. Called ComCast - they confirmed they were able to ping the CM500 modem. I connected ethernet cable from modem to laptop - internet works fine. ComCast confirms modem & internet is fine - problem is in the R7000 router. When i connect ethernet cable from modem to laptop, the ethernet light in the modem is green/stable. When i connect the same cable to router, the ethernet light in the modem doesn't light up. Also on the router, the internet light doesn't light up at all. Troubleshooting performed on the R7000 router: Restore to factory settings Power Cycle the router/modem set up Firmware upgrade & repeat the above Installed NetGear genie app and repeated all the above tests I do see the MAC address on the router. Did refresh of laptop internet settings etc. Contact with NetGear Support: Contacted them to see if they honor the 1 year hardware warranty (since my router is still within this period). They asked me to post in this forum and didn't confirm anything about the 1 year hardware warranty - this sounds very weird to me, as clearly something is wrong with the router & I did not cause it to go wrong. Purchased the router from BestBuy and I have the purchase receipt. Can someone help me with how to proceed from here? I am pretty confident that I need to change the router - but I don't want to just buy one myself since the router is 9 months old & within the hardware warranty period. Please advice. Everything was fine until this morning. Opened Genie to check network map and the Internet went down (don't know if it was coincidental). The Internet LED stays orange indicating no Internet. However, when I connect the Ethernet cable from my cable modem to my laptop I can browse without a problem, so this isn't an ISP issue. I'm on the newest firmware and I've tried everything possible. - Simple power boot - Hard reset to factory settings - Changed ethernet cable - Even tried the Kong dd-wrt opensource firmware - Then flashed the normal one again No matter what I try, the Internet LED stays orange. I'm at a loss. This is really frustrating - I purchased this on Oct 1st, and barely 6 months later the $300 router seems to be bricked. What is my recourse? Thank you,Solved4.1KViews0likes2Comments
