Ability to sort the LAN setup list in Netgear genie.
I use the Netgear genie software on an HP Envy Phoenix Desktop computer running Windows 10 with Mozilla Firefox browser version 50.1.0 and R8000 Nighthawk X6 AC3200 Smart WiFi router. I have a long list of items in the LAN setup (Advanced tab --> Setup --> LAN Setup). I cannot sort the list by IP Address or MAC Address or Device Name. I can sort this list in Access Control (Advanced tab --> Security --> Access Control), but it is not the full list of items for which I have reserved IP addresses. When I make a change to any item in the LAN Setup, it goes to the bottom of the list. I have 45 items in the list now and I want to sort them to facilitate finding an item in the list. When an item shows up in the Access Control list, I check the LAN Setup list before allowing the item to connect. I have to search through all the MAC adresses which is tedious. It would be much better if I could sort the list first. I am using Netgear genie Firmware Version V1.0.3.26_1.1.18. .
phone fails to obtain IP address
My brand new Samsung J7 phone (model number SM-J700H) fails to obtain IP adress from my Netgear extender WN3000RP. The phone connects well to the router (Arris) and establishes an internet connection. Also, other devices (ipad, my former mobile phone) connect well to the extender and establish an internet connection. So the problem seems to be between extender and the phone. I tried changing the IP address to static; the phone connects to the extender but there is no internet connection established. What could be the problem?
WNCE2001 pass through IP address
I'm using a Netgear WNCE2001 to connect a NAS drive to my wireless network (Netgear R7000). Everything appeared to be working fine - I can access the drives contents on windows/network explorer and I can access the NAS's control page. However, I want to use the drive to store video from my security cameras. This requires the comera to connect with the NAS' IP address. However, the only IP address I have is that of the WNCE2001. Any way to access the IP address of the drive itself so that the cameras can connect to it?C3700-100NAS is blocking ip Camera. I cannot see the ip address at all and do not know mac address
Normally, I have an issue setting up a new ip camera, because the router blocks the new ip address immediately. When the router blocks it I am unable to see the ip address at all, not even in the blocked attached devices. With the other cameras I have setup I was given the mac address (located on the camera or manual) and able to manually add it to LAN. This camera I do not have access to the mac address without being connected to it. Since my router is not even showing it attached (not even in blocked attached devices) I am at a loss of what to do. I have seen numerous discussions here about extenders not being able to connect to devices. The answers are somewhat vague and not necessarily definitive. I have just finished a paid for support call and have found the symptom and looking for a solution. The Problem: Windows 7 machine, trying to connect to the Netgear WN2500RP. Using the Genie support app I have gone through all the steps (multiple times) including factory resetting the extender, rebooting the computer (and my smartphone also trying to connect to the extender) even including adding the MAC addresses to the main router. Nothing works, the extender will not connect with any devices. The lights on the extender are all green as they should be. Here is what I paid to find out. The extender is sending out a strong signal to the devices, but it is sending to the wrong IP address. This is why nothing will connect. So the question to Netgear Experts is, how do I change the outgoing IP address on the Netgear Extender? If possible, please include some easy to understand step by step processes that anyone coming across this thread (and from my reading there are many) can do to change the out going signal to the correct matching IP address to allow the devices to communicate.
