6 TopicsReadyNAS 104 no accessible after to upgrade 6.9.1 and update PLEX
Hi all, The first thing is to say thank you very much in advance for your help. I have a RN104 since Nov.2015 with 4x6TB in RAID 5 (almost full) with both LAN connected with 2 IP. I upgraded the software to 6.9.1 at the begining of December and it was working ok but at the end of Dec I upgraded the APP Plex and it causes a problem in my RN. It is not accesible from any computer (Windows/Windows Explorer or Mac/Finder) it is visible but no accesible to any folder and also other folders are new in the root (admin, data and home) Plex is not detecting the Ready NAS Media Server and it is not possible to see nothing in Plex. NAS is accesible in the Admin page and all disk are working ok and also accessible in RAIDar 6.3.0 Ping from Mac with positive feedback. No working in ReadyCloud - Message is NAS doesn't have connection. What I have tried is: -first to reinstall Plex before to be aware the NAS is not accesible (many times but not possible to install). - I decided to reinstall Firmware from Boot Menu - I reinstall 6.9.1 from admin page - I dowgraded to 6.9.0 from admin page - I upgraded to 6.9.1 from admin page ... but nothing worked I really appreciate your help on this because a lot of info in my NAS I would like to preserve ... I am sending also the logs to the email. PS. Sorry about my English (I am from Spain)...4.9KViews0likes22CommentsOS 6.9.0 Release Notes
I've been reluctant to upgrade from 6.8.1 to 6.9.x (basically the fear of the unknown). But I would like to read the 6.9.0 Release Notes. I can only find the ones for 6.9.1. My assumption is that the 6.9.0 Release Notes have more major information. I have problems on an all-Mac network that include very slow directory display times and seemingly ramdom grayed out file names ("This file is in use or busy") when trying to delete files. Perhaps Release 6.9.x will help with these issues. What is the link for 6.9.0 Release Notes? Thank you.Solved1.1KViews0likes2CommentsNot able to connect to NAS-share on Mac OS 10.11.6
Hi, I have a really bizare issue and am really at loss ... In a small network, there's a mac mini, an iMac and a MacBook Pro, all running 10.11.6. The mini and the MacBookPro can connect to the "data" share with the user "pascal". With the iMac, I can connect to frontview, even connect to the share via http in a webbrowser with this user "pascal", but smb or afp do not work. I can connect to the IP-adres, which then shows me the share but connecting to the share always throws me an error that I cannot connect to the server ... The MacBook Pro are on the same switch and I even tried using the same cable, the results stay the same. Network settings are the same. Anyone any ideas where I need to go looking. I'm assuming Netgear will not be willing to help as this is clearly a mac related issue, but I was wondering if there would be anything visible on the NAS. TIA, Bart3.2KViews0likes8CommentsFile access confusion with afp and smb
My environment is all Mac. Years ago I read that afp was the best access method in an all-Mac environment and my ReadyNAS 516 was set up that way. I've since learned that it's preferable to use smb. So, I added smb as an access method. I generally use that. The problem is that I occasionally run into a file that can only be accessed via afp. When I use smb I get this message: "filename" can’t be opened right now because it’s being used by another task, such as moving or copying an item or emptying the Trash. Try again when the current task is complete. First of all, nothing is using these few files. What's confusing is that, other files in that same directory can be accessed fine. AND another Mac on the network accesses all of the files still using afp. This problem is on a new Mac using Sierra. I figure that this is a problem with the Mac and not the ReadyNAS because when I go into Terminal and run "ls -l filename" all the files in that directory show the same access rights. Are there any Mac experts here who may have an idea how I can fix this problem on this Mac? In the past I would have tried "Repair Permissions" but since El Capitan it's no longer available. Thanks for any ideas you might have.3.3KViews0likes3CommentsMultiple versions of RN 214 showing up in MAC Finder
Just got my new RN 214 setup. With a couple of small exceptions it's gone pretty well. My question is related to how the drive shows up in the MAC Finder. As you can see from the screenshot, the drive is showing up mulitiple ways. The first one is what I would expect to see, the name of the drive. The second is the ORIGINAL name of the drive before I changed it and rebotted the NAS, and then the new name is also show up as (AFP) and (SMB). What's the difference, why are all of these various shares showing up, and how do I get rid of the original name share?2KViews0likes1Commentproblematic video playback via LAN on iOS ReadyCLOUD app, from RN102
I've never been able yet to get a good performance from my RN102. It's usable as backup / storage and streaming media via DLNA also seems to work well on my BlueRay player, but anything that goes via SMB or AFP to my laptop is terribly slow. I've posted a question about the ReadyCLOUD app on Mac OS not seeing the RN102 unit online elsewhere, but the iOS ReadyCLOUD app does work. I can navigate the file system and display photos. However, video files are problematic. They do eventually load, but the lag makes it practically unusable. The playback also stops quite often and has to be started again by tapping the play symbol. Is there any way to make this unit a bit more zippy? updated: updating the firmware of the Airport failed, so I'm now using the MediaAccess TG789bvn modem / router instead (original setup was to use that as modem only, connected to the Airport by ethernet and use that as wifi router). Wifi speed is now 144 Mbps; I'll report back if this works better. Firmware 6.5.2 OSX 10.12 / iOS 10.02 MacBook Pro, Mid 2012 ReadyNAS 102 is connected to the LAN by ethernet to a via an Apple Airport that also functions as LAN wifi router MediaAccess TG789bvn modem / router + Admin page access via browser is fine. - ReadyCLOUD for mac os always shows RN102 offline + / - ReadyCLOUD for iOS too slow for video playback + / - CIFS / SMB and AFP both work when connecting via the Finder, though often too slow to be useful (navigating / listing directories takes very very very long)Solved3.8KViews0likes5Comments
