33 Topics'Back to My Mac' and UPnP
I have an R9000 and an iMac configured as a file server. Also have a separate MacBook Pro. I've configured file sharing, screen sharing and 'Back to My Mac', in order to access the iMac when I'm not connected to my home network. It works. However, when I am not in my home network, the service is very slow. I checked the configuration on the MacBook Pro when outside of the home network, and to the right of the 'Back to My Mac' icon (in iCloud configuration), a cautionary message appears: 'Back to My Mac may be slow because NAT Port Mapping (NAT-PMP) or Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) is turned off on your router. Turn on NAT-PMP or UPnP.' My UPnP is turned on. Any ideas for what I might do differently? Any different configurations on the R9000? BTW I've already cleaned keychain, turned Back to My Mac and Sharing off and on as well as re-installed the entire OS on the iMac. I've also attempted to setup port forwarding for every port Apple indicates is used by the service Back to My Mac, which shouldn't be necessary since it uses UPnP but I tried it anyway, without success. Once again, I have the service working - it is just very slow (especially the file sharing). Thanks for any ideas!Solved3.3KViews0likes2CommentsUnable to sign in to ReadyCLOUD
I have not used ReadyCLOUD in quite some months. I tried it just now (from Starbucks) and on the page with the window labeled "Sign in with MyNETGEAR Account" I enter my email address and Password, but it just redisplays the same window with Email and Password changed to the color red. I don't know what that means, bvut I can't seem to get beyond it. I know the password is correct because I was given the option of changing my password. It send me an email with a link so I changed it. But I can't log in. Any thoughts on how to fix the problem would be appreciated.8.1KViews0likes41CommentsHP4050 IP-based laser printer stopped working after Orbi upgrade
So - totally thrilled with the new WiFi coverage and speeds throughout the house, BUT, our workhorse HP 4050 can no longer be printed to from any of our Mac systems! The printer was initially set at 10.0.1.100 when it was working on the old network -- I changed it to follow the new Orbi router IP (192.168.1.1) - so the printer is now a fixed IP at 192.168.1.250 - but it refuses to print. I've deleting the old printer profile on two Macs and setting up new ones using the Line Printer Daemon - LPD setting, it just spins and spins forever when trying to "setting up"... and never successfully prints anything anymore. Hoping someone can help.SolvedR9000 problem - Cannot connect network drive located on a Mac for use in Plex
Hello. I have successfully set up a new R9000 router. I am unable to connect a shared network drive for use in Plex. I am able to successfully connect a shared drive located on a PC running Win7, but I am unable to attach a shared drive on a Mac running High Sierra. The Genie interface does not give me a specific error. It just loads a new blank page for entry of a network drive. There is no specific info in the log, just that the drive failed to mount. I found one similar thread here, but there was no solution there. I can’t be the only one trying to attach a Mac drive. I’m hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks!Solved7.9KViews0likes22CommentsMacBook Pro Looses Connection -- Reconnecting Solves It
Hey guys; Just wanted to check in. My RBK50 with 2 sats is much more stable since the last firmware release. My last remaining problem seems to be with my Apple laptops. Connection dies at random (still connected, but no throughput). This might be tied to the Mac going to sleep -- still trying to sort that out. All I need to do to fix it is disconnect from WiFi and reconnect. Bingo. Just posting this in case it is helpful for support/engineering. Orbi guys -- it's been a rough couple of months, but I know your engineers are working like crazy to make things better. Please let them know that we appreciate the ongoing efforts. Thanks, MarkReadyNAS 104 no accessible after to upgrade 6.9.1 and update PLEX
Hi all, The first thing is to say thank you very much in advance for your help. I have a RN104 since Nov.2015 with 4x6TB in RAID 5 (almost full) with both LAN connected with 2 IP. I upgraded the software to 6.9.1 at the begining of December and it was working ok but at the end of Dec I upgraded the APP Plex and it causes a problem in my RN. It is not accesible from any computer (Windows/Windows Explorer or Mac/Finder) it is visible but no accesible to any folder and also other folders are new in the root (admin, data and home) Plex is not detecting the Ready NAS Media Server and it is not possible to see nothing in Plex. NAS is accesible in the Admin page and all disk are working ok and also accessible in RAIDar 6.3.0 Ping from Mac with positive feedback. No working in ReadyCloud - Message is NAS doesn't have connection. What I have tried is: -first to reinstall Plex before to be aware the NAS is not accesible (many times but not possible to install). - I decided to reinstall Firmware from Boot Menu - I reinstall 6.9.1 from admin page - I dowgraded to 6.9.0 from admin page - I upgraded to 6.9.1 from admin page ... but nothing worked I really appreciate your help on this because a lot of info in my NAS I would like to preserve ... I am sending also the logs to the email. PS. Sorry about my English (I am from Spain)...4.9KViews0likes22CommentsOS 6.9.0 Release Notes
I've been reluctant to upgrade from 6.8.1 to 6.9.x (basically the fear of the unknown). But I would like to read the 6.9.0 Release Notes. I can only find the ones for 6.9.1. My assumption is that the 6.9.0 Release Notes have more major information. I have problems on an all-Mac network that include very slow directory display times and seemingly ramdom grayed out file names ("This file is in use or busy") when trying to delete files. Perhaps Release 6.9.x will help with these issues. What is the link for 6.9.0 Release Notes? Thank you.Solved1.1KViews0likes2CommentsEX7000, impossibile ottenere l'indirizzo IP
I bought a refurbished C6300, so the serial# is removed from the Product Label. There was an insert in the box that said to go to the Advanced Settings and provide the ISP (Cox, in my case) with the serial# and MAC address from the Cable Information pane. I provided that MAC address to the ISP, but they couldn't see it. Taking a chance, I gave them the MAC address from the Internet Port pane, which happened to match what was on the Product Label, and it worked. Yesterday, I was without internet service, and through troubleshooting, I saw that the MAC address on in the Internet Port pane was different -- I compared it to the Product Label, and yup, they're different now. Anyway, getting the ISP to provision for this new MAC got me up and connected again. Why are there 2 MAC addresses on the device? Which one should the ISP be able to see? Why did the MAC for the Internet Port change? This device is really slow, from a boot perspective, but I like it. I'm looking for answers so that I don't have to return it. Thanks in advance.4.2KViews0likes5CommentsLink Aggregation with macOS
Hi, I've got two ethernet ports on my Mac mini and have bonded them together with the virtual interface. I've then plugged them both into my GS116Ev2. If I have LAG turned off the Ethernet bond from macOS connects just fine - if I turn LAG on, it disconnects and reports that my switch doesn't support link aggregation. What's going on here? Why are they working with LAG turned off, but not on? Are they even working with an aggregated connection with LAG turned off (is the Mac doing it instead?) should they work with it on?Solved
