multicast
6 TopicsThe current IGMP Querier does not match the planned IGMP Querier.
Hello, I have a network of 43 switches (M4250, M4350), without a Core, in a non conventional wiring configuration (not a star, not a daisy chain, just a mix) where I chosen the switch in the middle of it as Querier. After a few months, another one is acting as Quierer. I setted up the whole network with Engage and the devices are up to date. In Engage>Site Settings>IGMP Quierer I have a yellow mark on the selected switch (that is not acting as Quierer) the following message: The current IGMP Querier does not match the planned IGMP Querier. Is this already happen to anyone here? Thank you so much50Views0likes1CommentNetgear M4350-24G4XF - Multicast
Hi Community, We recently purchased the aforementioned switch to replace a failing Xtreme. We have our VLANS setup and for the most part things seem to be working. Prior to this new switch we had another configured as the multicast querier, but the goal was for this switch to take over the role. We've been experiencing network & internet performance issues; it looks like the switch is flooding the core. I'm attempting to disable Multicast router on the uplink port, but it won't disable, and I can't figure out what setting is enabled that is preventing me front disabling this option. Or maybe we have a multicast configuration problem. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.33Views0likes0CommentsOrbi useless for IPTV (no multicast/IGMPV3)???
Hi everyone, I just installed my new Orbi System (also ran the firmware update, currently 1.4.0.18) with 1 satellite and everything seemed to run pretty smoothly. That was until I switched on my TV... It´s an IP-TV system (Telekom Entertain in Germany) and after five seconds of running the screen freezes. The media receiver is connected to the Orbi satellite via LAN cable. People with far more networking knowledge than myself told me that my router probably doesn´t support multicast, which is needed for IPTV. Can this be true??? I buy a €400+ WiFi system to get all my networking issues sorted out and it is no use for IPTV? Please, someone tell me what to do (other than throwing my Orbi into the trashcan...) Thanks AlexSolvedNeed the proper switch for my IPTV setup
I have the current setup: - I connect to my ISP via fiber optic cable and a provided router - For IPTV a VLAN is created by the router and assigned to a single port (LAN4) - Lan 4 is connected to a FS105 switch - Two STBs are directly connected to switch This setup works perfectly - Add a third STB connected to the switch via a POWERLINE solution (TP-LINK) The powerline shows continuous activity and playback on the STB's stutters or freezes TP-LINK states that the switch continuously sending data to the POWERLINE and thereby using up bandwidth A user on the TP-LINK forum suggested that the setup would not work if the switch did not support MULTICAST and IGMP Snooping Question 1) Does this sound correct that MULTICAST/IGMP are required to get this setup working? Question 2) If so then which NETGEAR switch would be recommended to replace the FS105?Solved8.1KViews0likes4CommentsMulticast requests blocked ?
We have this WNR614 router being setup to connect few HP wireless printers for printing from Mobiles .But non of the HP printers would list in mobile . The same scenario worked with other brand routers. Interesting point is that canon wireless printers does get listed. When checked with Wireshark for monitoring traffic it was found that MDNS traffic (Multicast) was getting blocked. Is there a way to enable Multicast traffic in this router or is it some sort of a bug ? There are not much options in the advanced page too. The router is running the latest firmware . Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated . Thanks in Advance CinjuSolved5.6KViews0likes6CommentsLimit big amount of "multicast packets received" on single port
3 x STACKED GS748TS BOOT VERSION 1.0.2.0 SOFTWARE VERSION V 5.2.0.11 Server Ubuntu 12.04, Service CUPS 1.5.3 AP Ruckus 7372 - firmware 9.8.3.0.14 The AP stop propagate the printers over the IPP protocol, turn off and on the radio on ruckus and the IPP protocol return alive, this happens every 3 weeks! After some troubleshooting, the ruckus support pointed me to check the Multicast package and infact there are very high, I tried to set enable Storm Controll on the port with Broadcast Mode > BroadCast, Multicast and Broadcast Rate Threshold to "3500", I still have the same issue, any suggest ? thank you2.3KViews0likes1Comment
