Not sure model is correct. My login says RBR50, but it is both router and satelilte... Anyway, I am trying to create a server for my ALL Mac home so that I can have one location for all my music on laptop/ipad/desktop. Is it possible to connect one to the Orbi router, and if so, does it need to be another Mac or computer or can it just be a harddrive? I have a 10 year old Mac Mini with 10.6 software and all my current ones are 10.13.x TIA, JeffConnecting router to external USB drive
I'm trying to add my external USB HD to the router and am running into a few problems: 1) I don't know if I can use it to backup via Time Machine or only for additional storage? I followed the Time Machine guide to partition the USB drive. I'd like to be able to store backups on it. Is this possible? 2) I attached the USB drive to my router and reach the point to connect to server and keep getting an error that my MacBook cannot connect. I opened Genie and everything is good, so I'm unsure as to what the problem is. MacBook Pro Late 2011 macOS High Sierra 10.13 Just updated Genie to 2.4.26 Any help appreciated. Hello, For some time I try to run a server on my network in order to reach for example my NAS or my security camera's from another location (so outside my own network). To my opinion I tried everything possible: - I have a DDNS address (No-IP and also Netgear) and entered it in the router - I tried to put the server in the DMZ - I forwarded the port for the server I use this modem/router with a SIM card only (4G network) I do not come any further. I suspect that my provider (T-Mobile 4G network) is blocking this, but before I start to make a lot of noise there, is there somebody having an idea what I have missed or did not do?
