319 TopicsConfiguring Trunk and Access Ports with multiple Vlan interfaces in GS752TPP
Hi Experts, I have a GS752TP switch where I need to have routing enabled for two subnets guest and users plus defualt route back to FW. Also I need to configure two ports as a trunk ports where I can connect my two access points . I manged to create two vlans with enabling routing so far. Issues I have so far: 1- vlan 1 is for mangment and users and vlan 100 is for Guest network , I have ports on each vlan by tagging them (is that correct ?) like port 15,13 the issue when I check arp table I still see MAC addresses on those ports associated with Vlan 1 !!! 2- How to configure access ports and how to configure trunk ports in netgear switch. Thanks in advanced. Mudher Alattar,SolvedWG102 fails with iPad / iPhone with iOS 6 and WPA2 / AES - urgent fix necessary!
Hello *, * after upgrading my iPad 3 to iOS 6 it constantly fails to connect to WiFi with WPA2 and AES - hidden or broadcasted SSID - at home and at work because the device does not accept the WPA2 password. This is also the case for my iPhone 4S but both devices did work with WiFi (WPA2 / AES) perfectly with previously installed iOS 5.1.1. * I tried to downgrade to iOS 5.1.1 but it seems to be no longer possible to downgrade for both iPad 3 and iPhone 4S as the certification and signage window for iOS 5.1.1 maybe has been closed by Apple. The odd behaviour seems to deal with a firmware issue of the installed Netgear WG 102 APs that all do not allow the connect of iOS 6 devices with WPA2 / AES enabled :-( Does anyone know about a possible solution to connect to WiFi with WPA2 and AES with iPad 3 / iPhone 4S and iOS 6 upgrade to Netgear WG 102 APs? * Thank you very much for any help and advise. * Best regards from Germany * MatthiasSolved34KViews0likes15CommentsNetgear M4100-D12G - IPV4 Net Interface
I've just bought a Netgear M4100-D12G switch. I've connected to it via console USB cable and given it a management IP address. Everything is fine. I have a query though as I don't understand something which someone who is more familar with the set ups will. The IPV4 Network Interface - the logical interface. It has fields for IP, S/M and D/G amongst others. The IP field doesn't display the same IP as what the management IP is set to. It displays the default IP of 169.254.100.100 and the S/M is set to 255.255.0.0. It throws up an error when trying to set it up as the same as the management IP but will accept the changes to the D/G though. I am clearly misunderstanding what it is used for. Could someone explain or give an example of where it comes in to play please. Thanks in advance.28KViews0likes6CommentsWhich browser?
Which browser to use in programing a GS724TPS? Specifically when trying to setup vlan's. Firefox and chrome work, but when I select VLAN Membership, it doesn't give me the table to tag ports. I did get it to work sometimes with IE, but right now IE hangs if I select the "Switching" tab, the switch itself is not hung as I can hit refresh and it goes back to the main page. I had one switch standalone before and it worked ok, but I currently have a GS748TS and a GS748TPS in the stack that I'm having issues with. I also have a GS724Tv3 that does not exhibit the same issue. All switches on the latest firmware 5.2.0.10 Thanks, Steven27KViews0likes13CommentsSwitch not communicating traffic
I just purchased this NETGEAR 48 port gigabit switch, I hooked everything up to it and then I powered the switch on and all the lights that had a connection in it's designated port lit up (some ports lit up amber, which for netgear gigabit switches means it's receiving the data at 100MPS instead of green which indicates it's receiving data at 1000MPS). I saw all theose lights turn on and then I started the desktop computer that was attached to it, The computer attempted to obtain an IP address from the dhcp server that is connected to the switch but it gave up after a while. It's frustrating seeing that I don't know if this switch is locked down or if it's just plain broken since NETGEARS smart switches don't have a console like CISCO switches do so I can't actively look at the Operating system bootup and see the problems. What should I do here. I have network devices that won't obtain an IP address, even though there is a device that has a DHCP server running on it. Even when I setup all the devices with static IP address on the same subnet that this switch supposedly is set to by default, I still can't connect to the web interface to see what is going on. I already called the seller and NETGEAR and nobody seems to know what is going on with this thing. The seller claims that it worked when he tried it before he shipped it. Is there maybe a way to display what is going on with the switch when it boots up like a Cisco switch? I feel it might have a corrupted image on it, or something is loose on the inside. I also believe it's supposed to show all the lights on the top illuminate green for a second, then start adding things to it's mac table (assuming), then start handling network traffic.SolvedGS105Ev2 Logon issues
I've just got hold of a GS105Ev2. After presssing the factory reset button it appeared on my LAN. My problem is that I can't log on to it. I downloaded and installed the ProSafe Plus Configuration Utility 2.3.20. This finds the switch on the network. If I select the switch nothing happens. I believe I should receive a password prompt at this point? If I click on the 'IP SETTING' button it shows some info (eg Firmware v1.2.0.5) and the fact that DHCP is enabled. If I enter "password" into the password field and click on 'APPLY' everything is fine. If I type anything other than "password" it comes back and says "incorrect password". To me this shows that the password has been reset to the default of "password". If I point a browser at the switch's IP address I get a username/password logon prompt. Trying the standard admin/password combination doesn't work. Trying all the variations I can think of doesn't work. So.... Why doesn't the factory default of admin/password get me in at the web interface? Why doesn't the Configuration App prompt for a password when I select the switch? Anyone have any ideas?SolvedCan I turn a managed Netgear switch in to a unmanaged switch?
Hi, I was looking for a 24-port switch and have been offered a new in box Netgear GSM7324 Managed Switch but I don't need a managed switch. I know this is the opposite of what everyone wants but, can I turn the GSM7324 in to a unmanaged/dumb switch? If yes, what will I need to do? Hi, I am seeking some general direction in the best way to discriminate and segregate wireless AP traffic using a managed switch. I can set up several secure SSIDs on the AP and the AP can be set to tag traffic from each SSID with different Vlan IDs. My question is how do I keep traffic from one SSID private and allow it to access both private network and also the WAN whereas the other SSID clients are only to be able to connect to WAN and not be able to see the private traffic. In other words how may I split the tagged packets from the AP at the switch? Grateful for some guidance here on best approach please. Budgie2 I am using an M4100-DG12 managed switch.17KViews0likes17CommentsCannot discover GS108T
Hi My GS108Tv2 switch was working ok. Then I performed a factory reset (because of various problems). I set my local PC address to 192.168.0.1 and I have only that PC connected to the switch. I have power cycled the switch. The switch responds to a ping at 192.168.0.239 but SmartControlCenter will not 'Discover' the switch. No switches are found. I am running SmartControlCenter 1.1.3.2. How can I fix this please? BR David16KViews0likes2Comments
