Am having trouble setting up the following config. Broadband WAN connection into FVS318 VPN - 8 port to route to non wireless clients one LAN port of the FVS318 into the WAN port of WGR614 I tried DHCP off and also on but with a limited range on the downstream (WiFi) router. I also tried setting its WAN IP to fixed (192.168.1.11) and to DHCP and the WGR614 just seemed to no longer respond to connection requests. So, rather than troubleshoot my trials, what is best practice for how to configure WGR614 as a downstream Wireless router from another router?17KViews0likes2CommentsWAN IPv6 Prefix Delegation doesn't work
I bought recently a new FVS328Gv2 as replacment for an older D-Link DIR-825. The FVS318Gv2 is connected to an AVM Fritz!Box 6490 which is the internet access router of my provider. The Fritz!Box 6490 allows to use a second router on its LAN side and offers an IPv6 subnet prefix via prefix delegation. This IPv6 prefix delegation has been working well with my DIR-825 so the Fritz!Box seams to be setup properly by me. Let me now explain the steps taken with my new FVS328Gv2: 1. Unboxed the device and checked that it has FW Version 4.3.1-11 2. Upgraded to the latest version from netgear portal 3. Now the FVS328Gv2 is using FW Version 4.3.4-2 4. Setup IPv4 WAN via DHCP -> works fine Fritz!Box 6490 delivers address, gateway and DNS to FVS328Gv2 Access to the internet is working and at good performance rate. Fritz!Box 6490 has a static IPv4 route into my private LAN on FVS328Gv2. 5. Setup IPv6 WAN via DHCPv6 with IPv6 Prefix Delegation -> *** does not work *** FVS328Gv2 gets an IPv6 address and gateway (the Fritz!Box 6490). But WAN link status remains on 'connecting... ' and never ends. Some time later it gets a primary DNS server (the Fritz!Box 6490). But WAN link status remains on 'connecting... ' and never ends. I never see a delegated prefix on the LAN configuration pages of the FVS328Gv2. So I can't get IPv6 internet access from the LAN side of the FVS328Gv2. The Fritz!Box does not offer static IPv6 routes so setup the FVS328Gv2 WAN manually will not work. Note: The Fritz!Box gets an IPv6 prefix of length 62 from my ISP. The former DIR-825 has been assigned properly a sub-prefix of the 63 by the Fritz!Box. What am I doing wrong? Hope for any help. Is about a Nighthawk(R) X4S R7800 firmware version V1.0.2.40 Although a gigabith ethernet connection from the modem is connected to the wan port and a gigabit switchport is connected to ethernet LAN port 1, both show a maximum of 100Mb. Also the connected Gigabit switch port shows a maximum of 100Mb. (connecting other gigabit devices on the switcvh port show a 1Gbps speed) According to the specs , the ethernet ports of the R7800 are 1Gbps. What can be the cause that the bandwidth is max 100Mbps ? router status / internetport statistics:Solved9.8KViews0likes2CommentsR7000 WAN connectivity issues
In the last week or two I have suddenly had WAN connectivity issues. The LAN / Wi-Fi works fine and I can connect to router but not past it. I usually reboot both cable modem (Comcast Ubee 3.0) and the R7000 and it works again for 24 hours or so. Tonight I tried using the Test feature in Basic -> Internet. It would allow traffic to pass for 30-60 seconds. Then I rebooted the R7000 using web interface and got no traffic through. Lastly I reboot the R7000 using power switch. Still didn't work. Then I reset cable modem and it worked. Other times though just rebooting R7000 works. I am trying to figure out which component is issue and replace possibly. Any ideas welcome. I recently upgraded the firmware on R7000 to latest but problems didn't start immediately but soon.Solved9.4KViews0likes8CommentsLB2120 Bridge mode, not passing dynamic IP to router
Hello, I am using the LB2120-100-UKS which i have just received from new and wanted to use the bridge mode with a TL-R470+ load balancing router. I am connecting ADSL via the TL-R470+ with no issues (PPPoE in UK). The LB2120 is working well in both router and bridge mode with a PC (direct connection, no routers or switches, PC just set to obtain address automatically). In router mode, i get an IP in the range of 192.168.5.x as i would expact. In bridge mode, i get the WAN IP which is shown in the mobile 4G status window from the LB2120, so i know the (W10) PC is picking up the dynamic 4G IP address. If i restart the modem, it may (not always) get a new IP and the PC picks this up no issues. When setting the WAN port i intend to use for 4G on my TL-R470+ to "dynamic" the poor thing just sits forever and tries to connect with no success at all, looks like it never receives an address. If i set the "Static" and i enter what i noted from a succesfull PC connection, then the TL-R470+ makes a sucesfull connection to the LB2120 and i get 4G internet. Whats more, the load balancing works, and i get the benefit of the ADSL (slow but unlimited) and the 4G (fast but limited). So i know the system works as i want however i cannot use a static WAN IP on my 4G connection. My carrier, EE, wont offer fixed IP address on the consumer data tariff i have, so every few hours, or after a reboot, i would need to manually find the new IP, default gateway & DNS and update the details on the TL router so it can connect. I can only imagine that the router is getting confused as it "sees" both the 192.168.5.1 of the router admin page and the WAN IP and it cannot pick which to settle onto. Or perhaps it only sees 192.168.5.1 and its waiting on an IP assignment. How can i get around this? Is it a fault with the TL-470+ router, or the LB2120. Posts on other LTE models suggest this issue has been known for some time with any router. I can get it to work with the LB2120 in router mode, and the TL470+ in dynamic (i would probably pick static outside the DHCP pool to avoid conflict) and it gets an IP in the 192.168.5.x range but then double NAT is probably not always a good idea. This does at least mean the LB2120 takes care of the 4G WAN IP by ittself and i dont need to worry about it. Any help would be apprecaited. Thanks, StuartRBR50 *2 for dual WAN ?
Hi, with 2 Internet acces provider. I use FVS336Gv2 to aggregate the 2 WANs. Then 7500 to share Wifi. It work well, but : - lack of house and garden coverage - 2 devices management (in add of 2 modems) - only 4 wires connexions for main subnet (need one more switch) - need for better Wifi performance So, could I use two connected RBR50 for dual WAN and Tri-Band functionality ? Other thinks, could we add a 4G WAN on RBR50 ? Thanks in advance for your time to answer 😊. MickSRX 5308 - Protocol binding does not work
I have two WANs up and running and selected NAT and Load balancing with weighted LB. I defined a protocol binding for FTP for WAN2 but it routes through WAN1? The default outbound policy is "block always" and i only have one policy that allows all trafic and NAT IP is set to AUTO. Why is it not working? The only way to get outgoing traffic for specific service to specific WAN port is to define an outbound policy for each and define NAT IP accordingly, for example WAN2. If I understand correct the protocol binding should work without any outbound policies? Firmware: 4.3.3-65.8KViews0likes5CommentsFVS336GV3 adding multiple IP addresses on WAN
Make/Model: Netgear Prosafe FVS336GV3 4.3.3-6 - applies to any version Having wasted time reading multiple posts but successfully adding multiple IP addresses to a single WAN port, I thought I would post the simple solution myself, so that Netgear employees don;t have to stretch themselves too much.... Make sure you create and add SECONDARY ADDRESSES to the WAN (1 or 2) BEFORE you create your inbound NAT rules. Only then will they appear in the drop-down list where you can bind them to internal addresses (see above screen-shot)4.6KViews0likes1Comment
