I seemed to have lost the wifi extension from my AV200 powerline adapter. I have reset it (and the initial unit) and checked their encryption but using the Powerline Utility I keep getting a message that says 'wifi setting failed' when I try to complete that action. Any clues would be fab - all lights are opn and the utility says that the connections are good ???1.7KViews0likes4CommentsUnable to enable WiFi connection with Power 1000
Netgear genie login fails when using the default for router settings. User name: admin Password default: password ISP is Frontier using their modem/WiFi/router. Powerline 1000 connects fine with ethernet cables. There is no firewall according to Frontier. Appreciate any ideas or option to create a WiFi connection. Thanks in advance. Maybe I am not using the correct term here, but my intention when I bought this was to have essentially an extension of my router to the other side of my apartment. My issue I have right now using the powerline is since it creates its own wifi signal, everytime I switch where I am located my phone will stay connected to where I was before, so then I have to go to my settings and change my phone so it is connected to my Powerline (or router, depending on the room). For instance, I can be in room A on one side of the apartment and be connected to the router with a solid connection with WIFI_A. However when I leave that room and go to the opposite side of my apartment my phone remains connected to WIFI_A and I have to manually switch it to the Powerline adapter's wifi, WIFI_B. Is there a way to use the PLW1000 so that it is the SAME as my router, meaning I can go from one room to another to where the other device is located and stay connected to the same network and not have to change it? Meaning I can connect to WIFI_A and have that signal be both from the router AND powerline? Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! -Andy2.2KViews0likes3CommentsRange extension using AC?
Hello. I'm hoping someone here can help me. I have wifi in my house. My Barn is 300 feet away. I have central metering so the barn and house electrical are essentially the same. Is there an AC range extender available that will extend my wifi to the barn or allow me to use my Internet in the barn? I also have 500 feet of cat5 cable, would a wired connection work? And what gear would I need? Thank you for reading.2.7KViews0likes4CommentsPLW1000 buffering issues over wireless
I just recently purchased the PLW1000 Powerline Adapter with built-in Access Point to use another part of my house. The setup both physically and internally with the SSIDs and such was simple and easy. The issue I am having is a buffering issue while I am connected to the access point wireless. This happens on both frequencies (2.4 and 5). While hardwired to the powerline adapter, I get a consistent speed and connection. But wirelessly, my webpages, video and apps work for a little bit, and then all of a sudden they have to constantly buffer. The signal does not drop, and is constantly connected to the SSID with strong signal. I have had to either disconnect from the access point and reconnect to it, reboot through the www.mywifiext.net, or physically turn the adapter off and on, but it still consistently does this. I have updated the unit to the latest firmware (first thing I did when installing it), and have tried turning off either frequency to make sure it wasn't interference or a bandwidth issue. I have AT&T Uverse service and get a consistent 15-18Mbps down and 1Mbps up both wired and wirelessly via the adapter via Speedtest.net on multiple test weirdly. Direct from my router, I get similar speeds both wired and wirelessly without the buffering. Any advice/troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated because I as much as I like the device, if I cannot get this resolved, I will just return it for its inconsistency.3.8KViews0likes1CommentXWNB5201 installed and working, except..
I picked up the Powerline 500 + Wifi and installed it. Works great. TV connects and streams, no issue. The problem I have is with my iPhone/iPad. Connected with no issue. But as soon as I try to use anything on the phone via wifi (say, check email) it takes 2-4 minutes for the internet connection to work. If I continue to use the phone at that point (check social media etc) it will continue to work flawlessly. later in the day, rinse and repeat with the same results. Has anyone run into this?Solved2.2KViews0likes2Comments
