Update from me on this firmware. After using sometime I was getting rpoblems with wired devices. These devices did no longer get connection. Power cycle of the (non managed) switch resolved the issue. Howerv it returned then suddenly I noticed that my Andorid S10 phone (latest firmware) did no longer get good connection to the Wifi (no internet and no data).
Switching off router and satellites did only fix it for a few minutes and then issues start re-occuring. Other HW also wired connected did not get any internet anymore.
Full reset of the system (by using the reset button on the back) and then restore fixed everything anf the system is working again. It looks like it corrupted somewhere.
Another great experience of Orbi. I decided to purchase another system and will sell this. Too many issues

Satellite is NOT upgrading with this file..... (RBS50-V2.7.3.22.img)
Just tried two times and two times the result after patching en restarting is:
- Firmware Version: V2.7.2.104
The router itself went fine.
- SkywalkerPDApprentice
After re-downloading and updating the Satellite for 4 times. It now shows the (right) new firmwarre version.

I installed the update yesterday. Installation went fine on the router and satellite. A couple minutes after installation the Internet went offline. The web admin showed internet not connected. It came back after a few minutes. Then about 30 minutes later it did it again. This time I did a full power off of the modem, router, and satellite and then brought them up one at a time. So far all has worked well since that.- FURRYe38Guru - Experienced User
Yes a good power OFF of the Orbi system and ISP modem is needed after a FW update.

Looks like the DNS issue is not fully fixed in this one. With traffic meter on I was getting random DNS drop outs just like the original daylight savings/traffic meter issue. I turned off traffic meter and rebooted. I got one more DNS drop out after that, but so far stable since. If it continues opperating I'll leave traffic meter off and wait for the next fix, otherwise I'll probably revert to the previous version.

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since applying this FW update?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Mines also loaded and TM and DST are enabled. Have not seen any DNS issues. I had Circle enabled as well and experienced a internet outage, wired and wireless. I turned OFF Circle and rebooted the RBR. Haven't seen this again.

- spiderfiendAspirantThis firmware bricked my rbr40 router.
I think the satellites are ok but I can get the main router to respond. Holding the reset button for any combination of time lengths doesn't help and neither does tftp options. Left for vacation and came back to no internet and an expensive paperweight.- FURRYe38Guru - Experienced User
This FW thread is for 50 series Orbi systems ONLY.
For 40 series, you need the version from here:
Please respond in that thread for your model Orbi.
Contact NG support for additional help and information.

Hi,
I've tried twice to update my RBR50 using this latest firmware 2.7.3.22 two days ago. I got no problem on the updating process. But i got serius problem after the update process is done. Suddently the WAN port is not working... or being disable... i don't know why. Even after i reboot the router a few time, the result is still the same. I've try using the automatic update and manual update. Both way give me the same result. So i revert back to firmware 2.7.2.104 .... everything is back to normal.
Connection:
ISP -> Manage Switch -> Orbi RBR 50 -> Orbi RBS 50
- Orbi Router only do PPPoE and PPPoE IPv6.
- No Vlan setting enable on my Orbi 50 as the manage switch already done the job.- FURRYe38Guru - Experienced User
Next time try powering OFF both RBR and this managed switch for 30 seconds then back ON after a FW update.
Is there a modem or ONT in front of this switch?
Is the RBR in router mode or AP mode in this configuration? Most standard configurations, the RBR in rotuer mode is connected directly to the ISP modem or ONT and any switches are connected after the RBR.
I'm on v22 and my RBR50 running fine, Mines connected directly to my cable modem.

Thank you for the suggestion. I've try turning off the whole netwok for 5 minutes and then turun it back on. The WAN port is up but the connection is slow. i only got half of my subscribe internet bandwidth on the speed test and the WAN connection is not stable. It also affecting my wifi network clients especially my single band wifi 4 client keep disconnecting from the wifi. Right now reverting back to firmware v2.7.2.104 is my only solution.

Hi
I have 3 RBS50 attached to my RBR50. I have successfully updated the satellites to FW v2.7.3.22 but the RBR50 itself won't update. Have tried to update via mobile app, web UI (using online and manual update) but cannot get the RBR50 updated. It's still on v2.7.2.104. I notice that I get an error 500 when I try to view the Access Control List menu option. I cannot see any attached devices either.
Can anyone please advise on a solution without reverting to a router reset?
Regards
Chris

What browser are you using? Try MS Edge or Firefox...
Besure to clear all browser caches before entering the web page.
Try a factory reset on the RBR and setup from scratch with out the RBS connected. Then try to load updated FW usnig the FW file.
You may want to keep v104 for now as well.

Thanks for the reply FURRYe38. I will try a different browser and clear the cache but I don't think that is the problem. The FW update must have failed when trying to apply changes to the ACL as this part of my config is inaccessible. I wanted to avoid the factory reset but that may be the only option on the face of it.
Any other non factory reset options would be much appreciated.

After upgrading to this firmware, I can't see my satellites in the web router login or mobile app. They don't appear on the network map.
That said, I DO see them if I log in directly. Also, devices appear to be connected to the satellites and they also don't have any errors shown on the ring lights on top of the devices.
Also, I am now having a strange issue with my Xbox not being able to authenticate to my network and is asking for an alternative MAC. I see it connected in the admin console so I don't think it is Orbi. It's just strange that this popped up once the firmware update hit.

Has a power off for 1 minute then back ON with the ISP modem and Orbi system been performed since last update?
What browser are you using? Try MS Edge, FireFox or Opera?
Last resort would be a factory reset and setup from scratch.

All of the above, multiple times. Power cycled all. I use the Orbi router as my actual router (not bridge) and have two satellites.
The mobile app is the main culprit for not showing the network map.
- vondieAspirantI’ve been using the new firmware for a week now. Seems like wifi adapter 802.11g or 802.11n cannot have stable connection with the router compare to the previous firmware 2.7.2.104 . It keep disconnecting like every 15 to 20 minutes. I thought it is because of the wifi adapter driver… but it is not the case. I done restoring back old driver and upgrading the wifi adapter driver. The result is still the same. Something is realy wrong with this latest firmware. Use to be able to downgrade the firmware. Now even if I manually downgrade the firmware, it will automatically upgrade back to the latest version firmware which is 2.7.3.22. I am getting super upset with this firmware.

You might reach out to NG support and ask them to see if they can block your RBR from being updated. You'll need to give them the serial# of the RBR.

Just to share my experience of this firmware update. I did the update but then a few days later noted that I was getting semi regular freezes while playing online games. During work hours, VPN connections would drop every 15 to 30 minutes. This was happening on both wireless and wired connections.
I'd completely forgotten about the firmware update. Tried hard reboots, factory resets, nothing seemed to solve it and plugging in my old ISP router gave a very stable less laggy connection.
I then remembered the firmware update and timing seemed not to be a co-incidence. Reinstalled the previous firmware, router restarted. Problem gone and stable connections resumed. I'll avoid this update and if it updates automatically I'll just downgrade again.

YOu could use your ISP modem/router to block Orbi FW updates.
