RBS50 fails to update but RBR50 is successful
Hi,
So I downloaded the firmware from Netgear RBR50-V2.7.6.6 since the router does not find any new version besides the old I have which is 2.7.5.6, updated the main router and it worked perfectly, tried to update the satellite next, but it fails and I get an error message saying:
"This firmware file is incorrect! Please get the firmware file again and make sure it is the correct firmware for this product."
Ok so I tried to rollback the main router to previous version 2.7.5.6 thinking maybe you have to update the satellite first. Rollback worked no issues, tried to update the satellite again with newest firmware and still the same error message. So is this a bug or you simply can't update the router to the newest firmware, only the main router? Thanks for any help with this matter.
The satellite firmware file is different from the router firmware:

As FURRYe38 mentioned, I find it easier to connect to the satellite IP address and use the Firmware Update menu selection on the satellite itself.

There is no benefit to turning off MIMO or Beam Forming.
For gaming, the best speeds are typically achieved by connecting the gaming console to the router with an Etherent cable. How are your consoles connected?
I find it helpful to compare the speed reported by a device on the network against the speed reported by the Orbi router (either the web interface or the Orbi 'app')
I see, so I'll just leave it as is, because on reddit some users urge to absolutely remove them since they will hinder performance haha.

I was more wondering why I've suddenly gotten that "error" message below saying that my router doesn't support IP packets when I've never gotten it before when doing speed tests. Is it time to update my router perhaps? It is from 2021 I think.
I did a test on speedtest.net on my computer and got this:

Ok so CrimpOns firmware worked :). Both firmwares ended in .img but they updated fine. So thank you both for your help :).
Before I finish off, since I have two experts here I might as well ask if these settings below (see picture) are best for this router :).Edit: Ok so I am trying to upload a picture but it says "media upload in progress, please wait a few minutes" and nothing else happens. If I wait the page just reloads after awhile and both this answer and the picture I want is not there, tried uploading from computer and also as a file. So I will have to try uploading it later.
There is a known forum bug that copying and pasting in pictures of a large size isn't working. To get around this, you'll need to use a cloud share service and use the DIRECT LINK option, then as you post, in the editing of the post, use the camera icon then select From Image URL. Poste in the DIRECT LINK. Then your picture should be seen in the post.
Glad you go the RBS updated. Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

I resetted my router after finally getting the router updated and now when I test my connection on the PS3 and PS5 I don't get that good speeds, and also I get information saying something about IP packets which I've never seen before when doing speed tests on the console. Is this something new? Also, for strict gaming content, is it best to disable all the fancy stuff netgear has like MUMO, beam forging etc? Thank you again. This is correct. Firmware images for Netgear products typically have files named .chk or .img It may be related to (a) the specific processor chips used, or (b) the programming development language.

Thank you! I looked for the satellite firmware but couldn't find it on the website only for the main one. I use Firefox and I log in to the web UI orbilogin.net. I use the satellite firmware window of course. I'll try updating and get back you.

What browser did you use? Try MS Edge or Firefox?
Be sure you update the RBS first using its web UI.
Clear out any browser caches.
File should be .chk.
