Netgear Nighthawk MR1100-2A1NAS Firmware Update Error

Hello all. I have a Netgear Nighthawk M1, Model # MR1100-2A1NAS. This is the second 2nd generation Nighthawk with Band 14. My problem is everytime I try to update the firmware, I get the error "The session could not be completed and the device will automatically retry the check for an available update." I have been buying a lot of these devices because I live in a rural area where we can't get good internet and I've been hooking people up with good internet. This is the second 2nd generation device (MR1100-2A1NAS) that I have had problems updating. I have tried everything. I have factory reset the device many times, tried 2 different SIM cards, I tried clearing my cache, updating the device from my phone. Nothing is working. Can someone please tell me how to fix this? Thanks for your time.

EDIT - My current firmware version is NTG9X50C_12.02.06.01

  • Return / Exchange?  If you're outside of the return window, visit an AT&T store or call corporate to see if you can do a warranty exchange.

     

    I see AT&T has dropped their pricing on this unit to $169.99

  • I have the same issue on a unit I just picked up on eBay. It is fully functional other than not receiving the firmware patch. I'm stuck on 12.02.06.01. Any ideas anyone?

      I'm having the same problem. When I try to update the firmware, it fails and tells me it will try again another time.

       

      I've been trying to update for 2 weeks. I'm on 12.02.06.01 firmware for the Nighthawk M1 (rev 2 with band 14). 

       

      I bought this from eBay...it's an AT&T branded unit, and I'm using an AT&T sim. It works fine except for this issue. 

       

      If I can't get this rectified, I may consider returning it to the seller as defective within eBay's 30 day window.

        What is the exact error message when you try to update the firmware? 

        May we please have the exact model number of the device?

  • Same problem with NAS version.  Unable to update manually either unless there is a hidden item for that.

     

    Need an answer.

     

     

  • I am having the same issue and unable to obtain a resolution.  Thank you for asking the question and posting this to the community.  I have tried every possible solution with no resolution.  I even made a support ticket and in several weeks have not received any assistance.  One message asked me if I tried to update the firmware with a different computer or use a different web browser.  Come on, really?  I really want this unit to work and am following this post to see if there is a resolution.

      We got an update from the engineering team. We just want to verify if you were using AT&T SIM when running the update.

        AT&T sim installed at the at&t store by the sales person. 

  • I'm trying to purchase the MR1100-2A1NAS but can't find where to buy this specific unit.  Can you help point me to where you are buying these units.  I'm in the country outside Austin Tx.
