Nighthawk M5 MR5100-1Z1MES useless In Middle East
Good day NETGEAR COMMUNITY ! ,
First of all, We are in big trouble because a lot of people In Middle East They didn't get the new update :
Model: MR5100-1Z1MES
Firmware Version :
NTGX55_12.04.12.01
GUI Version:
MR5100-1Z1MES_04.02.197.00
HW Version: 1.1

Most of people stuck on version :
10.12.13.0
&
10.28.02.00
Which is very old version and you cannot change band option's from the router ! You shall to change It from 192.168.1.1 !
Also, when you tried to check for updates It's give you UP TO DATE !

Is it difficult for a large and leading company in the field of routers like Netgear to Push an OTA update 12.04.12.01 to all owners of the MR5100-1Z1MES model ?
By the way .... The vendor not cooperate at all In Middle East

After contact with Zain KW, and give them the router, they finally update It to latest firmware!

Many of routers on Zain KW got the new FW update today !!!! No need to send It to Zain !!!

I am using the latest update, but following the update, 5G network will not connect, and the airplane mode feature is missing completely. FW on the device is NTGX55_12.04.12.01. Has anyone else had this problem? The device worked perfectly on previous update. It is tied to Zain.

Hi, All,
I got an update from the product team. There are two different FWs for MR5100-1Z1MES units. The FW v10.x.x.x is the latest FW for MR5100 units with 4GB of memory. And the customer with 8GB of memory MR5100 can only update to FW v12.04.12.01.
As for the issues with the FW 10.x.x.x, kindly report those issues to Zain.

Community Team- KeepINtouchInitiateHi Blanca , thanks for responding , as we all know the main goal from the updates are to fix bugs , mail function, unstablity and to enhance the frimware , In our case we stocked in old version of frimware mean while others were able to get the latest frimware , 🧐 I am wondering who’s responsible? Kuwait Zain telecom or Netgear ? Am sure day after day you will see many Netgear mr5100 Zain version users will complain about this issue in Netgear Community , In four words ( We Deserve Best Service) , Thanks

By the way, I have 2 Routers of MR5100-1Z1MES1, old and new firmware.
For firmware 10.12.13.0 & 10.28.02.00 there's many Issues :
1- You cannot change band region from the router screen, you shall to navigate to 192.168.1.1 or Netgear app to change It !
2- Unstable of speed , ping , jitter, RSRP, RSRQ, SINR.
3- Switch connect from LTE+ to 5G always every couple of minutes.
4- The carrier name replaced from your ISP to unknow. EX: Zain to unknow.
5- There's some very important AT! Command It's gave you error ! Like: AT!BAND=04,"1800",0,4 It's give you error sometimes.
With the new firmware 12.04.12.01 :
1- You can change band region from the router screen !
2- Stable of speed , ping , jitter, RSRP, RSRQ, SINR.
3- Stable connection of 5G and It's not switch to LTE+ like old firmware.
4- The carrier name correct always.
5- AT! Command Works fine without any error ! So, you can add band frequency without any Issue.

hopefully Netgear can push an update across all MR5100 Routers - KeepINtouchInitiateI have the same issue, hopefully Netgear support centre fix it as soon as possible.
