    Thank you for your message

You can find XS712Tv2 documentation on its support page:

     https://www.netgear.com/support/product/XS712Tv2#docs

More specifically you can use the User Manual page 398:

    http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/XS708T/XS708T_XS716T_UM_EN.pdf

Section is called <<Download a file to the switch or update the software using HTTP >>

Before that, you can download latest XS712Tv2 firmware 7.0.0.20 from the XS712Tv2 support page :

    https://www.netgear.com/support/product/XS712Tv2#download

    Firmware and Software Downloads

I hope it will help you,

    Regards

      Hi Laurent,

thanks a lot for you help. I was a little bit confused about the expression "software", because i was looking for "firmware".

Another thing came up. In the documentation you can read, do not update your current image, otherwise an error will come up. I did read this afterwards, my fault, but no error showed up. So, can i use this updated "image1" or should i have to overwrite it, with the one i copied before the update to "image2".

And another question. Will the configuration also be saved, if i clone the actual "image1" to "image2"?

Many thanks for help and i really aoppreceate your quick response

        Alexander,

Firmware and software (utilities for example) are hosted in the same download section. Hope you have not missed to unpack the ZIP archive before uploading - the switch can't handle this. Probably there are some things misleading in the Web UI ref. Upload and Download - and the selection of what you intend to upload.

It's a good policy to upload the new firmware into the inactive partition - this will keep the current running in case of an issue. In the Web based uploader you can select the destination. In case of replacing the active image, the other might become highly outdated. Not aware that replacing the active image should lead to an upload error - no idea from where this information should come from.

The config is independent of the firmware image selection.

        Regards,
        -Kurt
