Could someone point out a suitable Java plug-in to use? The device view is not working.

Virtually impossible. The Java and other plugins were retired by Orcale and the browser makers more than a half decade ago (Janaury 2016) already. Between 2016 and 2021 browser vendors worked on a deprecation roadmap for plugins and in particular for Java or Adobe Flash, and today plugins are no longer supported by any major browsers.
