GS7328Sv2 Reboot-loop and I/O Module Issues
Hello, first time poster here. I have a GSM7328Sv2 with multiple issues. The most pressing is that I have somewhat "bricked" my switch in an effort to figure out why my newly installed AX743 mod...

One more update.
I updated to firmware version 8.0.3.34 which is the latest of the 8.0 branch. The I/O modules still work with this version, however still appears incorrectly as AX741 (XFP version). Some of the bugs are now gone in the web GUI (which I use often). However, I'd still hope to see this issue fixed in a later firmware release.
Hopefully someone at Netgear can plug in one of these switches, test out the I/O modules with the latest public firmware and see what's causing this weird behavior.

Hello DaneA,
I finally got the free time to try this out. I re-uploaded a fresh copy of 10.0.0.53 firmware, erased the config and rebooted. Alas, it still shows the adapters incorrectly leaving them unusable with this firmware. Switched back to 8.0.3.34 and, as before, the modules show up as the 10GBase-T modules and not the fiber modules, but they still function without noticable issue.
I took tech-support snapshots while running both firmware. The 8.0.3.34 tech-support file is with my running config less any personal info.
Both can be found here: http://richgannon.net/netgear/

I apologize for the late response. I got a feedback from the higher tier of NETGEAR Support regarding the tech support files you have provided.
As per the higher tier of NETGEAR Support, something is not quite right. It seems depending on which firmware you are using on switch, the module shows as a different model number, but never the right model. Also, it was found out that you are using a GSM7324 switch model but you mentioned here on this forum thread that you are using a GSM7328Sv2 switch which is contradicting.
There are no previous reports of AX743 showing as a different module in GSM7328Sv2 switch. Due to the strange behavior of your switch which is a second hand unit (refurbished), kindly send me picture(s) via private message of the following:
a. The serial number of your GSM7328Sv2 switch that is printed on the back part of it.
b. The serial number of the module(s) which show incorrectly when plugged in to the GSM7328Sv2 switch.

I sent a PM with the requested images.
It is definitely a GSM7328Sv2 model, with the built-in dual 10 Gigabit SFP+ ports on the front. Not sure why it would say a different switch model, nor have I noticed it indicate an incorrect model in the GUI or elsewhere.
Thanks to you guys and gals for looking into this.

I forwarded the images to the higher tier of NETGEAR Support and I just got a feedback today.
As per the higher tier of NETGEAR Support, they have tested a GSM7328Sv2 running firmware version v10.0.0.53 in their laboratory and the result was that the module AX743 shows correctly. So generally, it is not a bug.
It was concluded that you will need to have the GSM7328Sv2 be replaced because it may be a fault on your unit. Since your GSM7328Sv2 is a second hand unit, NETGEAR Support will not be able to replace it. Hope that you could get a replacement from the store/reseller where you have purchased it or if possible to swap it with a working one.

DaneA
