I finally got the free time to try this out. I re-uploaded a fresh copy of 10.0.0.53 firmware, erased the config and rebooted. Alas, it still shows the adapters incorrectly leaving them unusable with this firmware. Switched back to 8.0.3.34 and, as before, the modules show up as the 10GBase-T modules and not the fiber modules, but they still function without noticable issue.
I took tech-support snapshots while running both firmware. The 8.0.3.34 tech-support file is with my running config less any personal info.
