GSM7212 config file on a GSM7312?

hello all,

i had a GSM7212 which failed but the replacement i got through the RMA was a GSM7312. I have a copy of the configuration file for my GSM7212 which died, so does anyone know if the configuration file could be loaded on a GSM7312 safely?

thanks in advance.

  • As I remind you cannot simply load the file from a 7212 into an 7312. You have to copy+paste the config from an ascii file when logging in and do a configure.
  • don't fully understand what you are saying, can you be a little more specific?
  • There are some switches from them you can write out the running config (to a file). The format ist model- and firmware-dependant.

As you wrote you got within the RMA another model than that which failed (7312 instead of 7212). This is fine, becaue 7312 is a more featurerich model than the 7212. On the other side, it has some different configuration settings. So the only way for you to restore the configuration is, made it by hand (bloody fingertips). No other choice, simply because some commands have other options and so on.

But believe me, the 7312 ist the _more_ powerful model.
