JGS524Ev2 - 'password' failing after resetting to factory defaults
I'm changing my network configuration considerably. The easiest way was to reset to factory defaults and start afresh.
While I can see the switch at 192.168.0.239, I'm unable to sign in.
I'm using admin/password.
The password pre-reset is not accepted.
I didn't see any change in lights when I reset, but I'm pretty sure it has reset because devices on ports that used to be on vLANs are getting addresses from a router on 192.168.0.*
I need to configure a few things, like port mirroring and a new vLAN on a different set of ports.
Ideas welcome.

To reset the switch to factory default settings using the Factory Defaults button:
1. On the front panel of the switch, locate the recessed Factory Defaults button.
2. Using a straightened paper clip, press and hold the Factory Defaults button for four seconds.
3. Release the Factory Defaults button.
The configuration is reset to factory default settings. When the reset is complete, the switch restarts. This process takes about one minute.Unless I'm not remembering correct, the link-LED for connected devices will go out, and come back when the process is finished.
Which firmware version is displayed using the NETGEAR Switch Discovery Tool (NSDT) ?

Thanks for the link to the discovery tool. It took 5 attempts to find the switch. It was on a different address to the default (and the one in my bookmarks). Not actually sure what's at that address. I'm in now, with 'password' and can modify from the default configuration.

Most likely DHCP assigned e.g. from your DHCP server, typically your router - this is the default after a factory reset The default IP address is only active if no DHCP address is assigned (or a static IP is in place).
Multiple attempts (repeated) tell me there might be a issue on your L2 network, cumbersome L2 bridges (wired or wireless) or switches in the data path, or there is a lot of Broadcast traffic.
